若男女或在首、或在鬚有患、

“ If a man or woman has a sore on their head or chin,

“ Suppose a man or woman has a sore on their head or chin.

“ When a man or woman has a disease on the head or the beard,

“ If anyone, either a man or woman, has a sore on the head or chin,

“ When a man or woman has a condition on the head or chin,

“ Now if a man or woman has an infection on the head or on the beard,

“ If a man or woman has a sore on the head or the beard,

And when a man or woman hath a plague upon the head or upon the beard,

“ When a man or woman has an infection on the head or chin,

“ When a man or a woman has an infection on the head or in the beard,

“ When a man or woman has a plague on the head or on the beard,

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

[ Then] what prayer[ or] what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:

What prayer and supplication soever be[ made] by any man,[ or] by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great[ is] that darkness!

The ancient and honourable, he[ is] the head; and the prophet that teacheth lies, he[ is] the tail.

Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread: they have not called upon God.

I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.Which thing I also did in Jerusalem: and many of the saints did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests; and when they were put to death, I gave my voice against[ them].

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and[ their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with[ their] eyes, and hear with[ their] ears, and should understand with[ their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves[ of] gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

Why should ye be stricken any more? ye will revolt more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint.

The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money: yet will they lean upon the LORD, and say,[ Is] not the LORD among us? none evil can come upon us.

I am verily a man[ which am] a Jew, born in Tarsus,[ a city] in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel,[ and] taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
