He is to lay both hands on the head of the live goat and confess over it all the wickedness and rebellion of the Israelites— all their sins— and put them on the goat’s head. He shall send the goat away into the wilderness in the care of someone appointed for the task.

He must place both of his hands on its head. While he does that, he must tell me about all the sins the Israelites have committed. He must tell me about all their evil acts and the times they did not obey me. In that way he puts their sins on the goat’s head. Then he will send the goat away into the desert. The goat will be led away by a man appointed to do it.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins. And he shall put them on the head of the goat and send it away into the wilderness by the hand of a man who is in readiness.

以斯拉祈禱哭泣認罪、俯伏於天主殿前、有以色列男女孩提極大之會、集於其前、民皆痛哭、

蓋人以心信則可稱義、以口認則可得救、

牽犢至會幕前、使亞倫與其諸子按手於犢之首、

我禁食衣麻蒙灰、向主天主祈禱懇求、禱告主我之天主、自陳罪愆、曰、主歟、至大可畏之天主、為敬愛主謹守主命者、踐約施恩、我儕犯罪違背、作惡叛逆、棄主之誡命法度、主之僕諸先知、奉主之命、勸教我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖、及國之庶民、俱弗聽從、猶大人、耶路撒冷居民、及以色列眾、因獲罪於主、主逐之散於各邦、或近或遠、有若今日之景況、我儕遭此、面蒙羞愧、惟主至公至義、主歟、我儕君王、我儕牧伯、我儕列祖獲罪於主、面蒙羞愧、我儕雖悖逆主我之天主、主仍矜憫赦宥、我儕不聽從主我天主之命、不遵行主藉主之僕、諸先知、所賜我之律法、我以色列眾犯主律法、不聽從主命、我既獲罪於主、故主之僕摩西律法書、所載之諸災、臨於我身、所載之諸災臨於我身原文作所載之咒與誓傾於我身主素警戒我儕及治我之士師、士師或作長者必降大災於我儕、今主之言已應矣、耶路撒冷所遇之災、天下各處、未嘗遭遇、摩西律法書所載之諸災、臨於我身、我猶未祈禱主我之天主、未悛改罪愆、未以主之真理為念、未以主之真理為念或作未學主之真理我既不聽從主命、主屢降災於我、主我之天主所為、至公至義、主我之天主、昔用大能、導主之民出伊及、主之名播揚、主之名播揚或作宣揚大名迄於今日、我儕犯罪作惡、求主依主之仁慈、向主之邑耶路撒冷、及主之聖山、止忿息怒、今耶路撒冷及主之民、為四周鄰國凌辱、皆因我儕之罪惡、及我列祖之愆尤、求我天主俯聽僕之祈禱懇求、主之聖所荒蕪、荒蕪或作傾圮求主為主之名、垂顧照臨、求我天主側耳垂聽、我之土地及歸主名之邑、今已荒蕪、求主啟目鑒察、我祈禱主前、非自有義可恃、乃恃主之大憐憫、求主垂聽、求主赦宥、求主俯顧、求我天主為主之名、行救莫緩、行救莫緩或作循我所求而行莫遲延蓋斯邑乃主之邑、斯民亦主之民、俱歸主之名、我以斯言祈禱、自認己罪、及我民以色列之罪、為我天主之山、於主我之天主前祈求、

此數端中若犯一端、則當自認所犯之罪、

彼時必認己之罪、及其列祖之罪、即干我逆我以行之罪、

按手於火焚祭牲之首、可蒙悅納、可冀罪贖、

是日書四分之一立於其所、誦主其天主律法之書、晝四分之一認罪、崇拜主其天主、利未人耶書亞、巴尼、甲篾、示巴尼、布尼、示利比、巴尼、基拿尼、登臺大聲呼籲主其天主、利未人耶書亞、甲篾、巴尼、哈沙尼、示利比、何第雅、示巴尼、毘他希曰、爾曹當起、頌美主爾之天主、永世無盡、主歟、主之榮名、固當頌美、主之榮名、超乎一切頌美讚揚、
