Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court?Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture,“ Love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing right.But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. “ Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say,“ Amen!” (niv)

Do not have two differing weights in your bag— one heavy, one light.Do not have two differing measures in your house— one large, one small.You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.For the Lord your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly. (niv)

It is not good to be partial to the wicked and so deprive the innocent of justice. (niv)

He told them,“ Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict.Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” (niv)

But select capable men from all the people— men who fear God, trustworthy men who hate dishonest gain— and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens. (niv)
