No man who has any defect may come near: no man who is blind or lame, disfigured or deformed;

No man who has any flaws can come near. No man who is blind or disabled can come. No man whose body is scarred or twisted can come.

For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, a man blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long,

No one who has a defect qualifies, whether he is blind, lame, disfigured, deformed,

都必須獻毫無殘疾的公牛、公綿羊或公山羊才能蒙悅納。不可獻有殘疾的，因為不蒙悅納。如果有人為了還願或自願獻牛羊作平安祭，必須獻毫無殘疾的牛羊才能蒙悅納。不可獻給耶和華瞎眼的、骨折的、殘廢的、長疥癬的牲畜，也不可把這些牲畜獻給耶和華作火祭。至於畸形或發育不全的公牛或綿羊羔，可以用作自願獻的祭，但不可用作還願祭。不可獻給耶和華睪丸受損、被壓碎、破裂或被閹割的牲畜。在你們境內不可做這樣的事，也不可從外族人手中接受這些牲畜並獻給你們的上帝作食物。因為這些牲畜是畸形的、殘疾的，不蒙悅納。」

作監督的人必須無可指責，只有一位妻子，為人節制自律、通情達理、受人尊敬、樂於接待客旅、善於教導，不酗酒、不好鬥、要溫和、不爭吵、不貪財，

「瞎眼的嚮導啊，你們有禍了！你們說，『指著聖殿發誓，不算數；但是指著聖殿裡的金子發誓，就要遵守誓言。』無知的瞎子啊！金子重要呢？還是使金子神聖的聖殿重要呢？

瞎眼的人啊！供物重要呢？還是使供物神聖的祭壇重要呢？

身為上帝的管家，作監督的必須無可指責，不傲慢，不暴躁，不酗酒，不好鬥，不貪財。

作監督的在教會以外也必須有好名聲，以免被人指責，陷入魔鬼的圈套。

以色列的守望者瞎眼無知，是不會叫的啞巴狗，只喜歡躺下睡覺做夢。

因為有許多悖逆之人喜歡空談，善於欺騙，尤其是那些奉行割禮的人。
