“‘ When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. Leave them for the poor and for the foreigner residing among you. I am the Lord your God.’”

“‘ Suppose you are gathering your crops. Then do not harvest all the way to the edges of your field. And do not pick up the grain you missed. Leave some for the poor people and the outsiders who live among you. I am the Lord your God.’ ”

“ And when you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, nor shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.”

當路得起身又去撿拾麥穗時，波阿斯吩咐他的僕人們說：「讓她在禾捆之間撿拾麥穗，不可使她受辱。你們還要從禾捆中有意為她抽出一些麥穗，留給她撿拾，不可斥責她。」路得就這樣在田裡撿拾麥穗，直到傍晚；她又把所撿拾的麥穗脫粒，約有二十二公升的大麥；然後她帶進城去給婆婆看她所撿拾的，又把她飽足後多餘的拿出來給了婆婆。她的婆婆對她說：「你今天在哪裡撿拾麥穗呢？在哪裡做工呢？願那位關照你的人蒙祝福！」路得就告訴婆婆她在誰那裡做工，說：「我今天在一個名叫波阿斯的人那裡做工。」娜娥米對她的兒媳婦說：「願他蒙耶和華祝福！耶和華的慈愛沒有離開活人和死人。」娜娥米又對她說：「那個人是我們的親戚，是我們的一位有贖回權的近親。」摩押女子路得說：「他還對我說：『你要緊跟著我的僕人們，直到他們收完我所有的莊稼。』」娜娥米對她的兒媳婦路得說：「我的女兒啊，這樣就好！你與他的使女們一同出去，就不會在別人的田裡受人欺負。」於是，路得就緊跟著波阿斯的使女們撿拾麥穗，直到大麥收割和小麥收割都結束了。路得一直與她的婆婆住在一起。

路得就去了，來到田裡，在收割的人後面撿拾麥穗；她來到的這塊田恰巧屬於以利米勒家族中的波阿斯。看哪，波阿斯從伯利恆來了，他對收割的人說：「願耶和華與你們同在！」他們對他說：「願耶和華祝福你！」波阿斯問那監督收割的僕人：「這是誰家的年輕女子呢？」那監督收割的僕人回答說：「她是與娜娥米一起從摩押地回來的年輕摩押女子。她說：『請讓我撿拾麥穗，在收割的人後面收聚禾捆之間散落的麥穗。』她就這樣來了；從清早起，除了在屋子裡坐了一會兒，一直留到現在。」

所以，我認為必須鼓勵這些弟兄先到你們那裡去，把你們已經許諾的惠贈提前安排好，這樣就表明你們所預備好的就是惠贈，而不是被強取的。又有這話：播撒吝嗇的人，也收穫吝嗇；播撒祝福的人，也收穫祝福。每個人要照著心裡預先定好的，不要為難，也不要勉強，因為神喜愛那樂意給與的人。神能使一切的恩典豐豐富富地臨到你們，使你們總是在一切事上都能知足，在一切美善的工作上充實滿溢。正如經上所記：「他施捨，賜予窮人；他的義行永遠常存。」供應種子給撒種的，又供應糧食給人吃的那一位，將要供給並增加你們的種子，而且增多你們義行的果子，使你們在一切事上都得以富足，以致十分慷慨，就藉著我們生出對神的感謝之心。因為這服事的工作，不僅補足了聖徒們的缺乏，並且能藉著對神的許多感謝而充實滿溢。

有人慷慨好施，反增添更多；有人該給不給，卻導致缺乏。慷慨祝福的，必得豐裕；使人得潤澤的，自己也蒙恩澤。

把你的糧食分給飢餓的人，把流浪的困苦人接到家中，見到赤身的人就給他衣服穿，不迴避有需要的骨肉之親。如果你這樣做，你的光就必噴薄而出，如同黎明的光；你也必速速康復；你的公義必行在你前面，耶和華的榮耀必作你的後盾；

眷顧貧弱者的，是蒙福的！在災禍的日子裡，耶和華必搭救他。耶和華要保守他，使他存活；他在這地上被稱為蒙福的人。耶和華啊，求你不要照著他仇敵的心願把他交出去！他在病床上，耶和華會扶持他；耶和華啊，他傷病時，你使他在病榻上痊癒。

如果你為飢餓的人獻上身心，使困苦的人身心滿足；那麼，你的光就必在黑暗中升起，你的幽暗必明如正午；

他施捨、給予貧窮人，他的公義將存留到永遠，他的角將在榮耀中被高舉。

不過你們當把裡面的施捨給人，看哪，對你們來說一切就都潔淨了。
