It is a day of sabbath rest for you, and you must deny yourselves. From the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening you are to observe your sabbath.”

That day is a day of sabbath rest for you. You must rest on it. You must not eat anything on that day. You must follow the rules of the sabbath rest. Follow them from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening.”

It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict yourselves. On the ninth day of the month beginning at evening, from evening to evening shall you keep your Sabbath.”

This will be a Sabbath day of complete rest for you, and on that day you must deny yourselves. This day of rest will begin at sundown on the ninth day of the month and extend until sundown on the tenth day.”

It will be a Sabbath of complete rest for you, and you must practice self-denial. You are to observe your Sabbath from the evening of the ninth day of the month until the following evening.”

「所有勞苦困乏、背負重擔的人啊，到我這裡來吧！我要賜給你們安息。我心柔和謙卑，你們要負我的軛，向我學習，這樣你們的心靈就必得享安息。因為我的軛容易負，我的擔子很輕省。」

這天是你們的安息日，你們要禁食。這是一條永遠不變的律例。

他們生病時，我披上麻衣，謙卑地為他們禁食禱告，但上帝沒有垂聽。

「七月十日是贖罪日，你們要舉行聖會，禁食，獻火祭給耶和華。

以華冠取代錫安哀傷者頭上的灰塵，以喜樂的膏油取代他們的哀傷，以頌讚的外袍取代他們的沮喪。他們將被稱為耶和華所栽種的公義橡樹，以彰顯祂的榮耀。

我悲傷禁食，他們就羞辱我。我披上麻衣，他們就譏笑我。

你所要的祭是憂傷的心靈。上帝啊，你必不輕看憂傷痛悔的心。

如果我們先自我省察，就不會遭受審判了。

含淚撒種的必歡呼著收割。含淚出去撒種的必歡呼著帶回禾捆。

他們說，『我們禁食，你為什麼不看呢？我們刻苦己身，你為什麼不理睬呢？』我說，『看啊，禁食之日你們仍然隨心所欲，壓榨你們的工人。你們一面禁食，一面爭鬧打鬥，彼此惡拳相向。不要指望這樣的禁食會使你們的禱告在天上蒙垂聽。難道這是我要的禁食嗎？難道刻苦己身、像蘆葦一樣垂著頭、躺在麻布和爐灰上就是禁食嗎？這就是你們所謂的禁食，所謂的蒙耶和華悅納的日子嗎？「『我要的禁食是，除去罪惡的鎖鏈，解開軛上的繩索，折斷一切的軛，使受欺壓的人得到自由，把你們的食物分給饑餓的人，接待無家可歸的窮人，送衣服給赤身露體的人，不躲避求助的親人。

因此，我們要竭力進入那安息，免得重蹈他們的覆轍，因不順服而倒斃。

正如上帝曾說：「我在憤怒中起誓說，『他們絕不可進入我的安息。』」但我們這些已經信的人能夠進入祂的安息。其實造物之工自創世以來就已經完成了，

那至高至上、永遠長存的聖者說：「我住在至高至聖之處，但我也跟痛悔、謙卑的人同住，使他們心靈振作。

我看見了他們的所作所為，但我還是要醫治他們，引領他們，使他們和那些哀傷的人得安慰，使他們開口讚美。願遠近各方的人都得到平安！我要醫治他們。這是耶和華說的。

哀慟的人有福了，因為他們必得安慰。
