他在木头上亲身担当了我们的罪，使我们既然不活在罪中，就可以为义而活。因他受的鞭伤，你们就得了医治。

因为基督也曾一次为你们的罪死了，就是义的代替不义的，为要领你们到神面前。就肉体的方面说，他曾死去；就灵的方面说，他复活了；

有新约的中保耶稣，还有他所洒的血。这血所传的信息比亚伯的血所传的更美。

我们众人都如羊走迷了路，各人偏行己路；耶和华却把我们众人的罪孽，都归在他身上。

照样，他也必使多国的人惊异（按照《马索拉文本》，“他也必使多国的人惊异”作“他必洒许多国的民”；现参照《七十士译本》翻译），君王要因他闭口不言，因为从未向他们述说过的事，他们必看见；他们从未听过的，他们要明白。

就是照着父神的预知蒙拣选，藉着圣灵得成圣洁，因而顺服，并且被耶稣基督的血洒过的人。愿恩惠平安多多地加给你们。

但恩赏和过犯是截然不同的；如果因着那一人的过犯，众人都死了，神的恩典和这一人耶稣基督在恩典里的赏赐，对众人就更加丰盛了。这赏赐和那一人犯罪的后果也是不同的；因为审判是由一人而来，以致定罪，恩赏却由许多过犯而来，以致称义。如果因着那一人的过犯，死就因那一人而掌权，那些蒙丰富的恩典并且得公义为赏赐的，就更要因这一位耶稣基督在生命中掌权了。这样看来，因一次的过犯，所有人都被定罪；照样，因一次的义行，所有人都被称义得生命了。因着那一人的悖逆，众人就被列为罪人；照样，因着这一人的顺服，众人也被列为义人了。律法的出现，是要叫过犯增多；然而罪在哪里增多，恩典就更加增多了。罪藉着死掌权；照样，恩典也藉着义掌权，使人藉着我们的主耶稣基督进入永生。

神使那无罪的替我们成为有罪的，使我们在他里面成为神的义。

“人的供物若是作平安祭，如果献的是牛，必须在耶和华面前献一头没有残疾的公牛或母牛；他要按手在他的供物的头上，在会幕门口宰杀它；亚伦子孙作祭司的，要把血泼在祭坛的四周。他要从平安祭中奉上献给耶和华的火祭，就是把遮盖内脏的脂肪，和内脏上的一切脂肪，两肾和肾上近腰旁的脂肪，和肾旁的肝叶，一起取下。亚伦的子孙要把这些放在祭坛炭火上的木柴上面，在燔祭上焚烧，作献给耶和华馨香的火祭。

他受了生命之苦以后，必看见光明，并且心满意足；我的义仆必使许多人因认识他而得称为义，他也必背负他们的罪孽。所以，我要使他与伟大的人同分，他必与强盛的均分掳物，因为他把自己的性命倾倒，以致于死。他被列在罪犯之中，却担当了多人的罪，又为罪犯代求。

当我们还软弱的时候，基督就照所定的日期，为不敬虔的人死了。为义人死，是少有的；为好人死，或有敢作的；唯有基督在我们还作罪人的时候为我们死，神对我们的爱就在此显明了。所以，我们现在既然因他的血称义，就更要藉着他免受神的忿怒。我们作仇敌的时候，尚且藉着神儿子的死与他复和，既然复和了，就更要因他的生得救了！不但这样，我们现在已经藉着我们的主耶稣基督与神复和，也藉着他以神为荣。
