Or they find something their neighbors have lost and then tell a lie about it. Or they go to court. They promise to tell the truth. But instead they tell a lie when they are a witness about it. Or they lie when they are witnesses about any other sin like those sins.

或是在捡了遗失的物上行了诡诈，说谎起誓，在这一切的事上犯了什么罪；

或是捡了失物行了诡诈，起了假誓，在人所做的任何事上犯了罪；

或是捡了失物行了诡诈，起了假誓，在人所做的任何事上犯了罪；

或捡到东西却矢口否认，或起假誓，或犯其他类似的罪，

或是拾去人遗失的东西，却欺骗人，起假誓，行了任何一件人常犯的罪，

或是在撿了遺失的物上行了詭詐，說謊起誓，在這一切的事上犯了甚麼罪；

或是撿了失物行了詭詐，起了假誓，在人所做的任何事上犯了罪；

或是撿了失物行了詭詐，起了假誓，在人所做的任何事上犯了罪；

或撿到東西卻矢口否認，或起假誓，或犯其他類似的罪，

或是拾去人遺失的東西，卻欺騙人，起假誓，行了任何一件人常犯的罪，

或是撿了人所失掉的東西而在那事上欺騙人、假意起誓：在人所作的這一切事的任一件上犯了罪；

拾人所遺、而誑言發誓、於此諸事獲罪、

拾人所遺、詭云未得、不論所為、誑言發誓、於是陷罪、

或拾人所遺、誑言未拾、若於此諸端、妄誓獲罪、

or if they find lost property and lie about it, or if they swear falsely about any such sin that people may commit—

or has found something lost and lied about it, swearing falsely— in any of all the things that people do and sin thereby—

or you find lost property and lie about it, or you lie while swearing to tell the truth, or you commit any other such sin.

or finds something lost and lies about it; or swears falsely about any of the sinful things a person may do—

or has found what was lost and lied about it and sworn falsely, so that he sins regarding any of the things that people do;

or if he has found what was lost and lies concerning it, and swears falsely— in any one of these things that a man may do in which he sins:

or have found that which was lost, and deal falsely therein, and swear to a lie; in any of all these things that a man doeth, sinning therein;

or finds something lost and lies about it; or swears falsely about any of the sinful things a person may do—

Or have found that which was lost, and lieth concerning it, and sweareth falsely; in any of all these that a man doeth, sinning therein:

or has found something lost and denies it and swears falsely concerning any one of the things that someone might do to sin–

or has found that which was lost, and lied about it, and swearing to a lie— in any of these things that a man sins in his actions—

“‘ Do not give your word in my name and then be a false witness. That would be treating the name of your God as if it were not holy. I am the Lord.

“ Suppose you come across your enemy’s ox or donkey wandering away. Then be sure to return it.

Suppose you have an ox, donkey, sheep or clothing that does not belong to you. Or you have other property lost by someone else. And suppose someone says,‘ That belongs to me.’ Then both people must bring their case to the judges. The one the judges decide is guilty must pay back twice as much to the other person.“ Suppose someone asks their neighbor to take care of a donkey, ox, sheep or any other animal. And suppose the animal dies or gets hurt. Or suppose it is stolen while no one is looking.Then the problem will be settled by promising the Lord to tell the truth. Suppose the neighbor says,‘ I didn’t steal your property.’ Then the owner must accept what the neighbor says. No payment is required.

The Lord who rules over all announces,‘ I will send the curse out. It will enter the house of the thief. It will also enter the house of anyone who lies when making a promise in my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely. It will pull down its beams and stones.’ ”

They make their promises in my name. They say,‘ You can be sure that the Lord is alive.’ But their promises can’t be trusted.”

If you don’t, I might have too much. Then I might say I don’t know you. I might say,‘ Who is the Lord?’ Or I might become poor and steal. Then I would bring shame to the name of my God.

Suppose you see your neighbor’s ox or sheep wandering away. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Instead, make sure you take it back to its owner.Its owner might not live near you. Or you might not know who owns it. So take the animal home with you. Keep it until the owner comes looking for it. Then give it back to them.Do the same thing if you find their donkey, coat or anything they have lost. Don’t act as if you didn’t see it.Suppose you see your neighbor’s donkey or ox that has fallen down on the road. Then don’t act as if you didn’t see it. Help the owner get it up on its feet again.

“‘ “You continue to steal and commit murder. You commit adultery. You tell lies in court. You burn incense to Baal. You worship other gods you didn’t know before.

“ So I will come and put you on trial. I will be quick to bring charges against all of you,” says the Lord who rules over all.“ I will bring charges against you sinful people who do not have any respect for me. That includes those who practice evil magic. It includes those who commit adultery and those who tell lies in court. It includes those who cheat workers out of their pay. It includes those who treat widows badly. It also includes those who mistreat children whose fathers have died. And it includes those who take away the rights of outsiders in the courts.
