倘若他們因認識我們的主和救主耶穌基督而得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又被污穢纏住，被制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們知道義路，竟背棄了傳授給他們那神聖的誡命，倒不如不知道為妙。俗語說得好，這話正印證在他們身上了：「狗轉過來吃自己所吐的；」又說：「豬洗淨了，又回到爛泥裏打滾。」

後來耶穌在聖殿裏找到他，對他說：「你已經痊癒了，不要再犯罪，免得你的遭遇更壞。」

如果我們領受真理的知識以後仍故意犯罪，就不再有贖罪的祭物，惟有戰戰兢兢等候審判和那將吞滅眾敵人的烈火了。任何人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩個或三個證人，尚且必須處死，不得寬赦，更何況踐踏神兒子的人，他們將那使他成聖之約的血當作不潔淨，又褻慢施恩的聖靈的人，你們想，他不該受更嚴厲的懲罰嗎？因為我們知道誰說：「伸冤在我，我必報應。」又說：「主要審判他的百姓。」落在永生神的手裏真是可怕呀！

就去另帶了七個比自己更惡的靈來，都進去住在那裏。那人後來的景況比先前更壞了。這邪惡的世代也要如此。」

論到那些已經蒙了光照、嘗過天恩的滋味、又於聖靈有份、並嘗過神的話的美味，和來世權能的人，若再離棄真道，就不可能使他們重新懊悔了；因為他們親自把神的兒子重釘十字架，公然羞辱他。

「你們這假冒為善的文士和法利賽人有禍了！因為你們走遍海洋陸地，說服一個人入教，既入了教，卻使他成為比你們加倍壞的地獄之子。

並那些轉去不跟從耶和華，不尋求耶和華，也不求問他的。」

這樣的人是你們愛筵上的污點；他們無所懼怕地同你們宴樂，彷彿牧人只顧餵飽自己。他們是無雨的浮雲，被風飄蕩；是秋天沒有果子的樹，死而又死，連根被拔出來；是海裏的狂浪，湧出自己可恥的沫子來；是流蕩的星，有漆黑的幽暗永遠為他們保留着。
