So you are witnesses and you approve of the deeds of your fathers; because it was they who killed them, and you build their tombs.

如是、則爾祖所為、爾證之、且與之、蓋彼殺先知、而爾建其墓也、

如是、足徵爾喜祖所為、蓋祖殺先知、爾則建其墓矣、

如是爾祖所為、爾自證之、且喜之、蓋爾祖殺先知、爾則建其墓、

祖殺先知、而爾築其墓足徵爾實默認乃祖之所為矣。

So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.

So you show that you agree with what your people did long ago. They killed the prophets, and now you build the prophets’ tombs.

So you are witnesses and you consent to the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their tombs.

But in fact, you stand as witnesses who agree with what your ancestors did. They killed the prophets, and you join in their crime by building the monuments!

Therefore, you are witnesses that you approve the deeds of your fathers, for they killed them, and you build their monuments.

They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the Righteous One, and you have now become betrayers and murderers of Him;

And the vine growers took his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.Again, he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they did the same things to them.But afterward he sent his son to them, saying,‘ They will respect my son.’But when the vine growers saw the son, they said among themselves,‘ This is the heir; come, let’s kill him and take possession of his inheritance!’

Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; And your own lips testify against you.

but they continually mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against His people, until there was no remedy.

So Joshua said to the people,“ You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves the Lord, to serve Him.” And they said,“ We are witnesses.”

As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

“ Yet you say,‘ Why should the son not suffer the punishment for the father’s guilt?’ When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has kept all My statutes and done them, he shall certainly live.

Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection;and others experienced mocking and flogging, and further, chains and imprisonment.They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented( people of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts, on mountains, and sheltering in caves and holes in the ground.
