『耶路撒冷乎！殘殺先知、石擊天主使臣之耶路撒冷乎！吾之欲集汝兒女、若牝禽之覆翼其雛者、不已頻乎！而汝終莫之許也！

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing.

“ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! You kill the prophets and throw stones in order to kill those who are sent to you. Many times I have wanted to gather your people together. I have wanted to be like a hen who gathers her chicks under her wings. And you would not let me.

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.

“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her. How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!

Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who have been sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her young under her wings, and you were unwilling!

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!

孰有先知而爾祖不窘逐者乎、昔爾祖殺預言義者將至之人、今義者至、爾即解而誅之、

如鷹之引雛而起、翱翔於上、展舒其翮、負之於身、戴之於翼。耶和華自導斯民、別無上帝偕在、

耶路撒冷乎、耶路撒冷乎、爾殺先知、石擊奉使者、我欲集爾赤子、似母鷄集雛翼下、已幾何時、惟爾不欲、爾室將為墟矣、吾語汝、今而後、爾不見我、時至、將曰、托主名而來者、當見寵也、

既近、見城、哭、曰、今猶為爾日、及是時、而知關爾平安之事、則幸、過此、隱於爾目矣、

夷爾及赤子、不遺石於石上、以爾不知眷顧之日也、○

以色列族之聖主耶和華勸爾遄歸、居處靜謐、則獲綏安、以補爾精力、惟爾不欲、

我所諭者、及使其敬聽我言、我必為其上帝、彼將為我民、如遵我命、必獲享通。爾祖不傾耳以聽、縱其私欲、輒蹈愆尤、退縮不前。

耶穌顧之曰、耶路撒冷女乎、勿為我哭、當為己及子哭、

爾至此、為以色列族之上帝耶和華所覆翼、願耶和華報施爾、大賚爾。

郇邑之民、賴爾之上帝耶和華、欣喜懽忭、春雨秋霖、無不時若、同於前日、我使之然、

緣此我為哭泣、潸然出涕、蓋慰者遠去、不加拯救兮、敵人勝予、子民煢獨兮。

我遣僕先知、誨爾諄諄不已、我所痛疾者、爾莫行之、彼不傾耳以聽、焚香服事他上帝、怙惡不悛。故我震怒、降災於猶大諸邑、耶路撒冷逵衢、使之荒蕪傾圮、今日之事為證。

願其有智而知此、思念厥終、

爾勿效祖所為、古先知告之曰、萬有之主耶和華云、棄惡勿作、彼不聽從、

夏甲者亞喇伯之西乃山也、即今耶路撒冷與其人皆為奴、惟在上之耶路撒冷不為奴、我眾之母也、

長子怒、不入、父出勸之、

屍仆大邑衢路、昔吾主釘十字架之處、其與所多馬埃及也、將毋同、

迄今召之愈殷、背之愈甚、獻祭於巴力、焚香於偶像、

民聽王命、謀害祭司、於耶和華殿院、石擊之。約轄王忘祭司耶何耶大保育之恩、殺其子、臨死呼曰、願耶和華垂顧伸冤。○

乃民弗順、違逆乎爾、背爾律例、爾之先知訓迪之、使歸於爾、反為所殺、干爾震怒。

彼衛護爾、如鳥覆雛、如盾庇體、以踐前言兮、

我來俾爾悛改、從命者、迄無一人、獨何哉、我豈碌碌無能、不能手援爾與、我叱咤則河海變為槁壞、鱗族失水、死而變臭。

耶和華曰、當立道旁、訪其舊途、正直者履之、可得平康、人曰、余不欲正直是履。

上帝兮、矜憫我躬、惟爾是賴、願爾覆翼、若鳥伏雛、以俟災患之潛消兮。

如以色列族、我民恪遵我命、聽從我道兮、

先知祭司、蹈於罪愆、殺義人於邑中、故遭此事兮。

當時、在耶路撒冷聖會、大遭窘逐、使徒而外、皆散處猶太撒馬利亞諸地、

願其常存此心畏我、恆守我誡命、永能受福、爰及子孫。

眾石擊士提反、士提反籲曰、請主耶穌接我神也、

農夫執其僕、扑一、殺一、石擊一、復遣他僕、較先尤眾、農夫待之如故、

其餘執僕、凌辱殺之、

是爾棄聖義之人、反求釋兇人、是爾殺生命之主、即上帝復起之者、我儕為證、

爾之恆忍、歷年已久、以爾之神、感諸先知、訓迪斯民、彼不聽從、故爾使異邦人敗之。

以色列族、必因造化之主而悅懌郇邑之民、必因大君而欣喜兮、

哩甲子約拿撻、命其子孫、勿飲酒、子孫聽從、彼遵父命、迄今不飲、我誨爾曹、諄諄不已、惟爾不聽、

以色列族之聖主、救主耶和華、告選民曰、我乃爾之上帝耶和華、我示爾以獲益之方、導爾以當行之道。願爾恪遵我命、享綏安、若江河之浩渺、得仁義、若波濤之洶湧。爾之子孫、多若塵沙、爾之苗裔、繁若鱗族、爾之邦國、必不滅絕、歷世靡暨。

余招爾、爾弗聽、余舉手、爾弗答、爾棄我道、不受我教、故患難既臨、而爾畏懼、我將哂笑。爾所懼之災害、迫切之患難、突如其來、如颶風之倏至。斯時籲我、而我弗聽、竭力求恩、而不可得。爾素不志於學、不畏耶和華、不受我教、藐視我道、

遣僕召所請者赴筵、不至、

其列祖之上帝耶和華、矜憫其民、視其殿為貴重、數遣使訓誨之、彼譏上帝之使、藐視其命、侮其先知、干耶和華震怒、不復援手、

上帝兮、維爾仁慈、至真至貴、人蒙爾祐、為爾覆翼兮、

我耶和華爾之上帝、導爾出埃及、爾口孔張、予取予求、靡不畀爾兮、以色列族我民兮、弗聽從弗柔順兮、

我民心偏、專背我旨、先知呼民、歸我至上之主、崇我者迄無一人、

吾督責爾赤子、仍不受教、使我徒勞、惟爾手刃先知、若猛獅吞噬。

曳烏哩亞出、至約雅金王前、殺之、棄尸於賤者之墓。

願爾護我、若守眸子、願爾翼我、若鳥伏雛。
