这两个儿子是哪一个照着父亲的意愿做了呢？”他们说：“大儿子。”耶稣说：“我实在告诉你们，税吏和娼妓倒比你们先进神的国。因为约翰到你们这里来指引你们走义路，你们却不信他，税吏和娼妓倒信了他。你们看见了以后，还是不悔悟去信他。”

下午三点钟祷告的时候，彼得和约翰上圣殿去。

“你回去告诉我百姓的君王希西家说：耶和华—你祖先大卫的神如此说：‘我听见了你的祷告，看见了你的眼泪。看哪，我必医治你；到第三日，你必上到耶和华的殿。

希西家对以赛亚说：“耶和华必医治我，到第三日我能上耶和华的殿，有什么预兆呢？”

众百姓和税吏已受过约翰的洗，听见这话，就以神为义；但法利赛人和律法师没有受过约翰的洗，竟废弃了神为他们所定的旨意。

对他们说：“经上说：‘我的殿是祷告的殿，你们倒使它成为贼窝了。’”

他们若肯作见证，就知道我从起初是按着我们教中最严紧的教门作了法利赛人。

你仆人和你百姓以色列向此处祈祷的时候，求你在你天上的居所垂听，垂听而赦免。

保罗看出他们一部分是撒都该人，一部分是法利赛人，就在议会中喊着：“诸位弟兄，我是法利赛人，也是法利赛人的子孙。我现在受审问是为有关死人复活的盼望。”说了这话，法利赛人和撒都该人争论起来，会众分为两派。因为撒都该人一方面说没有复活，另一方面没有天使和鬼魂；法利赛人却承认两方面都有。

我出生后第八天受割礼；我是以色列族、便雅悯支派的人，是希伯来人所生的希伯来人。就律法说，我是法利赛人；

照祭司的规矩抽签，进到主的殿里烧香。烧香的时候，众百姓在外面祷告。
