前行者斥之使緘默、彼益呼曰、大衛之裔耶穌、矜恤我、

前行者、斥勿喧。渠愈益大聲疾呼曰：『大維子、其垂憐焉！』

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way commanded him to stop. They told him to be quiet. But he shouted even louder,“ Son of David! Have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Be quiet!” the people in front yelled at him. But he only shouted louder,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet; but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Then those who went before warned him that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And they that went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried out the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.

Then those in front told him to keep quiet, but he kept crying out all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

And those who were in front scolded him to get him to be quiet, but he shouted even more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

那人說：「天快亮了，讓我走吧！」雅各說：「你不給我祝福，我就不讓你走。」那人說：「你叫甚麼名字？」他說：「雅各。」那人說：「你的名字不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列，因為你與神和人較力，都得勝了。」

有人甚至連嬰孩也帶來見耶穌，要他摸他們，門徒看見就責備那些人。

你們呼求我，向我禱告，我就應允你們。你們尋求我，若專心尋求我，就必尋見。

我告訴你們，雖不因他是朋友起來給他，也會因他不顧面子地直求，起來照他所需要的給他。我又告訴你們，祈求，就給你們；尋找，就找到；叩門，就給你們開門。因為凡祈求的，就得着；尋找的，就找到；叩門的，就給他開門。

人羣中有幾個法利賽人對耶穌說：「老師，責備你的門徒吧！」

你們律法師有禍了！因為你們把知識的鑰匙奪了去，自己不進去，要進去的人，你們也阻擋他們。」

他就呼叫說：「大衛之子耶穌啊，可憐我吧！」

耶穌還在說話的時候，有人從會堂主管的家裏來，說：「你的女兒死了，不要勞駕老師了。」

耶穌對門徒講了一個比喻，為了要他們常常禱告，不可灰心。

耶和華啊，我曾求告你，求你快快臨到我這裏！我求告你的時候，求你側耳聽我的聲音！

他回到門徒那裏，見他們睡着了，就對彼得說：「怎麼樣？你們不能同我警醒一小時嗎？總要警醒禱告，免得陷入試探。你們心靈固然願意，肉體卻軟弱了。」他第二次又去禱告說：「我父啊，這杯若不能離開我，必須我喝，就願你的旨意成全。」他又來，見他們睡着了，因為他們的眼睛困倦。耶穌又離開他們，第三次去禱告，說的話跟先前一樣。

為了這事，我曾三次求主使這根刺離開我。

「你們祈求，就給你們；尋找，就找到；叩門，就給你們開門。
