但有一個法利賽人，名叫迦瑪列，是眾百姓所敬重的律法教師，他在議會中站起來，吩咐人把使徒暫且帶到外面去，

約拿三日三夜在大魚肚腹中，同樣，人子也要三日三夜在地裏面。

主耶和華賜我受教者的舌頭，使我知道怎樣用言語扶助疲乏的人。主每天早晨喚醒，喚醒我的耳朵，使我能聽，像受教者一樣。

羅波安對他們說：「你們走吧，過三天再來見我。」百姓就走了。

耶羅波安和眾百姓遵照王所說「你們第三天再來見我」的話，第三天來到羅波安那裏。

說：「大人，我們記得那迷惑人的還活着的時候曾說：『三天後我要復活。』因此，請吩咐人將墳墓把守妥當，直到第三天，恐怕他的門徒來把他偷了去，就告訴百姓說：『他從死人中復活了。』這樣的話，那後來的迷惑就比先前的更厲害了。」

從那時起，耶穌才向門徒明說，他必須上耶路撒冷去，受長老、祭司長和文士許多的苦，並且被殺，第三天復活。

以為他在同行的人中間，走了一天的路程才在親屬和熟悉的人中找他，既找不着，就回耶路撒冷去找他。
