The Spirit of the Lord[ is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

主之神偕我矣、蓋彼膏我、以宣福音於貧者、遣我宣告、虜者得釋、瞽者得明、受挫折者得自由、

主之神臨我、膏我、俾傳福音於貧人、傷心者醫之、

上主之神、臨我之身；恩膏沐首、大命是膺。天主遣我、所為何因：窮苦無告、得聆福音；俘囚獲釋、瞽者復明；困者以解、屈者以伸；

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has anointed me to announce the good news to poor people. He has sent me to announce freedom for prisoners. He has sent me so that the blind will see again. He wants me to set free those who are treated badly.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free,

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to deliver those who are crushed,

The Spirit of the Lord GOD[ is] upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to[ them that are] bound;

The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:The LORD openeth[ the eyes of] the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

To open their eyes,[ and] to turn[ them] from darkness to light, and[ from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison,[ and] them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

But ye[ are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated[ us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.The meek also shall increase[ their] joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

And the eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken.

The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

And I will bring the blind by a way[ that] they knew not; I will lead them in paths[ that] they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye[ are] our gods.Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying,[ Thou] Son of David, have mercy on us.And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See[ that] no man know[ it].

Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.Therefore let us not sleep, as[ do] others; but let us watch and be sober.

Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.

That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that[ are] in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures[ shall be] in all high places.

And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said, Blessed[ be ye] poor: for yours is the kingdom of God.

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure[ unto him].

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Blessed[ are] the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Shake thyself from the dust; arise,[ and] sit down, O Jerusalem: loose thyself from the bands of thy neck, O captive daughter of Zion.For thus saith the LORD, Ye have sold yourselves for nought; and ye shall be redeemed without money.

And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

The LORD[ is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

I have raised him up in righteousness, and I will direct all his ways: he shall build my city, and he shall let go my captives, not for price nor reward, saith the LORD of hosts.

As for thee also, by the blood of thy covenant I have sent forth thy prisoners out of the pit wherein[ is] no water.Turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope: even to day do I declare[ that] I will render double unto thee;

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now[ are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:( For the fruit of the Spirit[ is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove[ them].For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

For all those[ things] hath mine hand made, and all those[ things] have been, saith the LORD: but to this[ man] will I look,[ even] to[ him that is] poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed,[ saying],

As for me, this[ is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that[ is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

I will also leave in the midst of thee an afflicted and poor people, and they shall trust in the name of the LORD.

A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.And[ some] of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect,[ in whom] my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.

Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

The sacrifices of God[ are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it[ was] the word of the LORD.

To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;

Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name[ is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy[ place], with him also[ that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death,[ being] bound in affliction and iron;Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and[ there was] none to help.Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble,[ and] he saved them out of their distresses.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.Oh that[ men] would praise the LORD[ for] his goodness, and[ for] his wonderful works to the children of men!For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to[ him that is] weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.

Because thine heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before God, when thou heardest his words against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, and humbledst thyself before me, and didst rend thy clothes, and weep before me; I have even heard[ thee] also, saith the LORD.
