The one who is wise in heart is called discerning, and kind speech increases persuasiveness.

Then he came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said,“ Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother named Mary? And aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon, and Judas?And aren’t all his sisters here with us? Where did he get all this?”

You are the most handsome of all men! You speak in an impressive and fitting manner! For this reason God grants you continual blessings.

The sovereign LORD has given me the capacity to be his spokesman, so that I know how to help the weary. He wakes me up every morning; he makes me alert so I can listen attentively as disciples do.

When the Sabbath came, he began to teach in the synagogue. Many who heard him were astonished, saying,“ Where did he get these ideas? And what is this wisdom that has been given to him? What are these miracles that are done through his hands?Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t his sisters here with us?” And so they took offense at him.

and a sound message that cannot be criticized, so that any opponent will be at a loss, because he has nothing evil to say about us.

The Teacher sought to find delightful words, and to write accurately truthful sayings.The words of the sages are like prods, and the collected sayings are like firmly fixed nails; they are given by one shepherd.

Yet they were not able to resist the wisdom and the Spirit with which he spoke.

The officers replied,“ No one ever spoke like this man!”

Like apples of gold in settings of silver, so is a word skillfully spoken.

His mouth is very sweet; he is totally desirable. This is my beloved! This is my companion, O maidens of Jerusalem!

And all who heard Jesus were astonished at his understanding and his answers.

For I will give you the words along with the wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict.

The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing, but the speech of the wicked is perverse.

Appear in your majesty and be victorious! Ride forth for the sake of what is right, on behalf of justice! Then your right hand will accomplish mighty acts!
