Then he said,“ You will undoubtedly quote me this proverb:‘ Physician, heal yourself’— meaning,‘ Do miracles here in your hometown like those you did in Capernaum.’

耶稣对他们说：“你们肯定会把这句俗话用在我身上，说，‘医生啊，治好你自己吧！你在迦百农所行的一切，我们都听说了，也在你家乡行给我们看吧！’

他说：“你们必向我说这俗语：‘医生，治好你自己吧！’也必说：‘我们听见你在迦百农所行的一切事，也该在你本乡这里行啊！’”

耶稣对他们说：“你们一定会用这句谚语对我说：‘医生啊，使你自己痊愈吧！’，‘我们听见在迦百农所发生的事，你在你的家乡这里也应该做！’”

耶穌對他們說：「你們必引這俗語向我說：『醫生，你醫治自己吧！我們聽見你在迦百農所行的事，也當行在你自己家鄉裏』」；

耶穌對他們說：『你們一定會引這句俗語對我說：「醫生啊，治好你自己吧！」「凡我們聽見你在迦伯農所行的事，你也該在這裏、在你的家鄉行啊！」』

耶穌對他們說：「你們一定會用這句諺語對我說：『醫生啊，使你自己痊癒吧！』，『我們聽見在迦百農所發生的事，你在你的家鄉這裡也應該做！』」

Jesus said to them,“ Surely you will quote this proverb to me:‘ Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me,‘ Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’”

Jesus said,“ Here is a saying you will certainly apply to me.‘ Doctor, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me this.‘ Do the things here in your hometown that we heard you did in Capernaum.’ ”

And he said to them,“ Doubtless you will quote to me this proverb,‘“ Physician, heal yourself.” What we have heard you did at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’”

Then he said to them,“ No doubt you will quote this proverb to me:‘ Doctor, heal yourself. What we’ve heard that took place in Capernaum, do here in your hometown also.’”

And He said to them,“ No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me:‘ Physician, heal yourself! All the miracles that we heard were done in Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.’ ”

He said to them,“ You will surely say this proverb to Me,‘ Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in Your country.’”

And he said unto them, Doubtless ye will say unto me this parable, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in thine own country.

Then He said to them,“ No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me:‘ Doctor, heal yourself. So all we’ve heard that took place in Capernaum, do here in Your hometown also.’”

And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.

Jesus said to them,“ No doubt you will quote to me the proverb,‘ Physician, heal yourself!’ and say,‘ What we have heard that you did in Capernaum, do here in your hometown too.’”

He said to them,“ Doubtless you will tell me this parable,‘ Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we have heard done at Capernaum, do also here in your hometown.’”

Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown.

He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

Well then, if you teach others, why don’t you teach yourself? You tell others not to steal, but do you steal?You say it is wrong to commit adultery, but do you commit adultery? You condemn idolatry, but do you use items stolen from pagan temples?

How can you think of saying,‘ Friend, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

“ And you people of Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you will go down to the place of the dead. For if the miracles I did for you had been done in wicked Sodom, it would still be here today.I tell you, even Sodom will be better off on judgment day than you.”

Jesus and his companions went to the town of Capernaum. When the Sabbath day came, he went into the synagogue and began to teach.The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority— quite unlike the teachers of religious law.Suddenly, a man in the synagogue who was possessed by an evil spirit cried out,“ Why are you interfering with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are— the Holy One of God!”But Jesus reprimanded him.“ Be quiet! Come out of the man,” he ordered.At that, the evil spirit screamed, threw the man into a convulsion, and then came out of him.Amazement gripped the audience, and they began to discuss what had happened.“ What sort of new teaching is this?” they asked excitedly.“ It has such authority! Even evil spirits obey his orders!”The news about Jesus spread quickly throughout the entire region of Galilee.

He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said,“ Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?”

As he traveled through Galilee, he came to Cana, where he had turned the water into wine. There was a government official in nearby Capernaum whose son was very sick.When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged Jesus to come to Capernaum to heal his son, who was about to die.Jesus asked,“ Will you never believe in me unless you see miraculous signs and wonders?”The official pleaded,“ Lord, please come now before my little boy dies.”Then Jesus told him,“ Go back home. Your son will live!” And the man believed what Jesus said and started home.While the man was on his way, some of his servants met him with the news that his son was alive and well.He asked them when the boy had begun to get better, and they replied,“ Yesterday afternoon at one o’clock his fever suddenly disappeared!”Then the father realized that that was the very time Jesus had told him,“ Your son will live.” And he and his entire household believed in Jesus.

The wine supply ran out during the festivities, so Jesus’ mother told him,“ They have no more wine.”“ Dear woman, that’s not our problem,” Jesus replied.“ My time has not yet come.”

When he came to the village of Nazareth, his boyhood home, he went as usual to the synagogue on the Sabbath and stood up to read the Scriptures.

For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice?And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back?

So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now!

The woman left her water jar beside the well and ran back to the village, telling everyone,

When Jesus returned to Capernaum several days later, the news spread quickly that he was back home.Soon the house where he was staying was so packed with visitors that there was no more room, even outside the door. While he was preaching God’s word to them,four men arrived carrying a paralyzed man on a mat.They couldn’t bring him to Jesus because of the crowd, so they dug a hole through the roof above his head. Then they lowered the man on his mat, right down in front of Jesus.Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralyzed man,“ My child, your sins are forgiven.”But some of the teachers of religious law who were sitting there thought to themselves,“ What is he saying? This is blasphemy! Only God can forgive sins!”Jesus knew immediately what they were thinking, so he asked them,“ Why do you question this in your hearts?Is it easier to say to the paralyzed man‘ Your sins are forgiven,’ or‘ Stand up, pick up your mat, and walk’?So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.” Then Jesus turned to the paralyzed man and said,“ Stand up, pick up your mat, and go home!”And the man jumped up, grabbed his mat, and walked out through the stunned onlookers. They were all amazed and praised God, exclaiming,“ We’ve never seen anything like this before!”

Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

and Jesus’ brothers said to him,“ Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles!You can’t become famous if you hide like this! If you can do such wonderful things, show yourself to the world!”
