“ What I’m about to tell you is true,” he continued.“ A prophet is not accepted in his hometown.

又说：“我实在告诉你们，没有先知在自己家乡被人悦纳的。

他又说：“我实在告诉你们，没有先知在自己家乡被人接纳的。

他又说：“我实在告诉你们，没有先知在自己家乡被人接纳的。

可是我实在告诉你们，先知在自己的家乡都是不受欢迎的。

他又说：“我实在告诉你们，没有先知在他本乡是受欢迎的。

耶稣又说：“我确实地告诉你们：没有一位先知在自己的家乡是受欢迎的。

又說：「我實在告訴你們，沒有先知在自己家鄉被人悅納的。

他又說：「我實在告訴你們，沒有先知在自己家鄉被人接納的。

他又說：「我實在告訴你們，沒有先知在自己家鄉被人接納的。

可是我實在告訴你們，先知在自己的家鄉都是不受歡迎的。

他又說：“我實在告訴你們，沒有先知在他本鄉是受歡迎的。

他就說：『我實在告訴你們，沒有神言人在自己家鄉受接納的。

耶穌又說：「我確實地告訴你們：沒有一位先知在自己的家鄉是受歡迎的。

又曰、我誠語汝、未有先知見重於故土者、

我誠告爾、未有先知、而見重於故土者、

又曰、我誠告爾、未有先知見重於故里者、

既又曰：『予誠語爾、先知未有見容於故土者也。

“ Truly I tell you,” he continued,“ no prophet is accepted in his hometown.

And he said,“ Truly, I say to you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

But I tell you the truth, no prophet is accepted in his own hometown.

He also said,“ Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown.

But He said,“ Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown.

Then He said,“ Assuredly, I say to you, no prophet is accepted in his own country.

And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is acceptable in his own country.

He also said,“ I assure you: No prophet is accepted in his hometown.

And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

And he added,“ I tell you the truth, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

He said,“ Most certainly I tell you, no prophet is acceptable in his hometown.

They were not pleased with him at all. But Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own town and in his own home.”

He himself had pointed out that a prophet is not respected in his own country.

Jesus said to them,“ A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own town. He doesn’t receive any honor among his relatives or in his own home.”Jesus placed his hands on a few sick people and healed them. But he could not do any other miracles there.

“ I am a Jew. I was born in Tarsus in Cilicia, but I grew up here in Jerusalem. I studied with Gamaliel. I was well trained by him in the law given to our people long ago. I wanted to serve God as much as any of you do today.

I saw the Lord speaking to me.‘ Quick!’ he said.‘ Leave Jerusalem at once. The people here will not accept what you tell them about me.’“‘ Lord,’ I replied,‘ these people know what I used to do. I went from one synagogue to another and put believers in prison. I also beat them.Stephen was a man who told other people about you. I stood there when he was killed. I had agreed that he should die. I even guarded the coats of those who were killing him.’“ Then the Lord said to me,‘ Go. I will send you far away to people who are not Jews.’ ”The crowd listened to Paul until he said this. Then they shouted,“ Kill him! He isn’t fit to live!”

Because of what he said, many more people became believers.
