以利亞將孩子抱起來，從房頂屋子抱下來到屋子裏，交給他母親，說：『看哪，你兒子活了。』婦人對以利亞說：『現在我才知道你真是個神人，而永恆主的話又真地由你口中說出。』

以利沙來到，進了屋子，看見孩子死了，躺在自己的床上。他一進去，就把門關上，只有自己和孩子在裏面；他便禱告永恆主。又在床伏在孩子身上，使口對口，眼對眼，手掌對手掌；既俯伏在孩子身上，孩子的肉身就漸漸溫暖起來。然後以利沙就下來、在屋裏來回地走了一趟；又上去、俯伏在孩子身上；孩子打了噴嚏、打到七次；然後孩子就睜開眼睛。以利沙叫基哈西來，說：『你叫那書念婦人來。』他就去叫她。婦人來到以利沙面前，以利沙說：『將你兒子抱起來。』婦人就來，就俯倒在以利沙腳前，下拜於地，將兒子抱起，就出來。

有人正在埋葬一個死人，忽見一羣遊擊隊，就把死人丟在以利沙的墳墓裏，走了；死人一觸着以利沙的骸骨，就復活，起來站着。
