爾時、耶穌在伯大尼讌於癩者西門家、一女攜玉壺至、中貯那達精膏、至珍貴。女乃破玉壺、傾沃耶穌首。坐中有人不悅曰：『胡此浪費！此膏售之、可得三百餘鈿、以濟窮人、不亦善乎？』舉悻悻然而嗔女。耶穌曰：『聽之、毋阻！渠所加於吾身者、美事也。貧者常與爾俱、爾可隨時濟之、予則非爾曹所得而長留。此女傾其所有、而膏澤吾身、所以備吾之葬耳。予誠告爾、普天率土、福音所至、此女今日之所為、將傳為千古美談矣。』

惟曰：『毋於節日行之、恐民生變。』耶穌宴於伯大尼癩者西門家、突有婦人持玉瓶、中貯珍貴之芳液、

禮日、耶穌入法利塞總董家用膳、眾目注之、欲覘其動靜。

而瑪麗者、即曩以香油渥主、以其髮拭主之足者也。病者賴柴魯、即係其兄。姊若妹因遣人告耶穌曰：『主所寵者病矣！』耶穌聞訊、答使者曰：『斯病不致於死、惟以榮天主、亦以顯揚天主子。』兄妹三人、皆耶穌之所愛也。顧聞賴柴魯病則滯留二日、始告其徒曰：『吾人當返猶太。』徒曰：『猶太人正欲以石磔爾、夫子乃欲再往何也？』耶穌曰：『一日之中、非有十二時乎？人若晝行、睹斯世之光、必不見蹶。若夜行、則無光而蹶矣。』既又曰：『吾輩之友賴柴魯睡矣、吾將醒之。』徒曰：『主、果睡則愈矣。』蓋耶穌言其已死、而諸徒以為言其安眠也。於是耶穌乃明告之曰：『賴柴魯死矣！予此次不在彼處、實足為爾等慶、所以建爾等之信德也。且偕予往！』多默一名提諦莫者、謂諸同道曰：『吾輩亦當偕往、寧與夫子同死！』

人子之來也、食焉飲焉、而爾則曰：「盍視彼人、饕餮也、酒徒也、稅吏罪人之友也。」

言畢、有法利塞人、邀耶穌同饍。既入席、
