萬軍之耶和華說：「現在你們當懇求神的恩寵，說：『願神恩待我們！』你們的手獻上這樣的東西，難道他會接納你們嗎？」

萬軍之耶和華曰、爾既行此、試求上帝施恩、使加矜憫、彼豈納爾中一人乎、

萬有之主耶和華曰、獻此薄祭、繫爾之故、今雖呼籲於上、望我矜憫、我豈以爾為悅、

萬有之主曰、由爾手獻若是之祭、主豈悅納乎、今當籲禱天主、庶幾施恩於我儕、

“ Now plead with God to be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will he accept you?”— says the Lord Almighty.

“ Now plead with God to be gracious to us! But as long as you give offerings like those, how can he accept you?” says the Lord.

And now entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With such a gift from your hand, will he show favor to any of you? says the Lord of hosts.

“ Go ahead, beg God to be merciful to you! But when you bring that kind of offering, why should he show you any favor at all?” asks the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

“ And now plead for God’s favor. Will he be gracious to us? Since this has come from your hands, will he show any of you favor?” asks the LORD of Armies.

“ But now, do indeed plead for God’s favor, so that He will be gracious to us. With such an offering on your part, will He receive any of you kindly?” says the Lord of armies.

“ But now entreat God’s favor, That He may be gracious to us. While this is being done by your hands, Will He accept you favorably?” Says the Lord of hosts.

And now, I pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.

“ And now ask for God’s favor. Will He be gracious to us? Since this has come from your hands, will He show any of you favor?” asks the Lord of Hosts.

And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts.

But now plead for God’s favor that he might be gracious to us.“ With this kind of offering in your hands, how can he be pleased with you?” asks the LORD who rules over all.

“ Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says Yahweh of Armies.

If they are prophets and have the word of the Lord, let them plead with the Lord Almighty that the articles remaining in the house of the Lord and in the palace of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem not be taken to Babylon. (niv)

The priests and the Levites stood to bless the people, and God heard them, for their prayer reached heaven, his holy dwelling place. (niv)

“ Did Hezekiah king of Judah or anyone else in Judah put him to death? Did not Hezekiah fear the Lord and seek his favor? And did not the Lord relent, so that he did not bring the disaster he pronounced against them? We are about to bring a terrible disaster on ourselves!” (niv)

We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will. (niv)

Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right side to accuse him.The Lord said to Satan,“ The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Is not this man a burning stick snatched from the fire?”Now Joshua was dressed in filthy clothes as he stood before the angel.The angel said to those who were standing before him,“ Take off his filthy clothes.” Then he said to Joshua,“ See, I have taken away your sin, and I will put fine garments on you.”Then I said,“ Put a clean turban on his head.” So they put a clean turban on his head and clothed him, while the angel of the Lord stood by. Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord. (niv)

For God does not show favoritism. (niv)

But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God.“ Lord,” he said,“ why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? (niv)

Since you call on a Father who judges each person’s work impartially, live out your time as foreigners here in reverent fear. (niv)

Arise, cry out in the night, as the watches of the night begin; pour out your heart like water in the presence of the Lord. Lift up your hands to him for the lives of your children, who faint from hunger at every street corner. (niv)

Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say,“ Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’” (niv)

Such a high priest truly meets our need— one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself. (niv)

One day the evil spirit answered them,“ Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?”Then the man who had the evil spirit jumped on them and overpowered them all. He gave them such a beating that they ran out of the house naked and bleeding. (niv)
