But when he learned that the new ruler of Judea was Herod’s son Archelaus, he was afraid to go there. Then, after being warned in a dream, he left for the region of Galilee.

The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way.

That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep.Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. But Elijah said to her,“ Don’t be afraid! Go ahead and do just what you’ve said, but make a little bread for me first. Then use what’s left to prepare a meal for yourself and your son.

Gedaliah vowed to them that the Babylonians meant them no harm.“ Don’t be afraid to serve them. Live in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and all will go well for you,” he promised.
