Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

What I’m about to tell you is true. No one more important than John the Baptist has ever been born. But the least important person in the kingdom of heaven is more important than he is.

Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

“ I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!

“ Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one greater than John the Baptist has appeared, but the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

“ Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not arisen a greater than John the Baptist: yet he that is but little in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

「我告訴你們：在女人所生的人中，沒有一個比約翰更大的；然而在神的國裡，再小的也比約翰更大。」

願榮耀歸於神——他能藉著我的福音和有關耶穌基督的傳道，藉著奧祕的啟示堅固你們。這奧祕亙古以來是隱藏的，然而如今已經得以顯現；並且按照永恆神的命令，藉著先知們的經文顯明了出來。這是為要在萬民中帶來信仰上的順從——

原來我是使徒中最小的，不配被稱為使徒，因為我曾經逼迫神的教會。

我在所有聖徒中，比最小的還小，但被賜予了這恩典，是為了把基督那無法測度的豐盛傳給外邦人；

有許多人來到他那裡，說：「雖然約翰沒有行過神蹟，但約翰所說的有關這個人的事，都是真的。」

約翰是一盞燃燒發光的燈，你們情願在他的光裡快樂一時。

「我用水給你們施洗，是為了你們的悔改。但在我之後來的那一位，是比我更強有力的，我就是為他提鞋子也不配。他要用聖靈和火給你們施洗。

所以，如果有人違犯了這些誡命中最小的一條，又教導人也這樣做，他在天國裡將被稱為最小的；但無論誰遵行這些誡命，又教導人也這樣做，這個人在天國裡將被稱為大的。

在耶和華包紮他子民傷口的日子，在治癒他所擊打之創傷的時候，月光必像日光，日光必加增七倍，像七日的光一樣。

因此，你們如果真有今生的事要審理，難道讓被教會所藐視的這些人來審嗎？

耶穌這話是指著信他的人所要領受的聖靈而說的。當時，聖靈還沒有臨到，因為耶穌還沒有得榮耀。

他是那在我之後來的，我就是為他解鞋帶也不配。」

然後對他們說：「無論誰奉我的名接受這小孩子，就是接受我；接受我的，就是接受差派我來的那一位。要知道，在你們當中誰更小，他才為大。」

「因此耶和華以色列的神宣告：我確實說過，你和你的父家要永遠行在我面前。但現在，耶和華宣告：絕不會這樣了！因為尊重我的，我必尊重他；輕視我的，他必被藐視。

因為神為我們預備了更美好的事，使他們沒有我們，就不能得以完全。

到那日，耶和華必保護耶路撒冷的居民；他們中間軟弱的人在那日將如大衛，而大衛家將像神——像在他們前面耶和華的使者那樣。

約翰為他做見證，呼喊說：「這一位就是我曾說過的，『那在我之後來的，已成為在我前面的，因為他在我之前就已經存在。』」

因為他將要在主面前為大。淡酒和烈酒他絕不能喝，還在母腹中的時候，他就會被聖靈充滿。

他必興旺，我必衰微。」

看哪，我在罪孽裡出生；我母親懷胎時，我就在罪中！

我們從前也都生活在他們中間，生活在自己肉體的欲望裡，行肉體和意念所願的事。我們正如其他人，生來也是震怒之下的兒女。

關於這救恩，那些預言你們要得著這恩典的先知，曾經尋求過，詳細查考過。

而現在，藉著我們的救主基督耶穌的顯現，已經表明出來；基督一方面廢除了死亡，另一方面藉著福音彰顯了生命和不朽。

這話語就是歷世歷代被隱藏的奧祕，但如今已經顯明給他的聖徒們。神願意在外邦人中，讓他們明白什麼是這奧祕的榮耀的豐盛；那就是：基督在你們裡面，他是榮耀的盼望！
