Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

What I’m about to tell you is true. No one more important than John the Baptist has ever been born. But the least important person in the kingdom of heaven is more important than he is.

Truly, I say to you, among those born of women there has arisen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

“ I tell you the truth, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than he is!

“ Truly I tell you, among those born of women no one greater than John the Baptist has appeared, but the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

“ Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

惟上帝能堅爾眾、依我福音、及所宣之耶穌基督、並依所啟之奧秘、即自永古存於靜默者、今依永有上帝之命、藉諸先知之書昭著、以示萬國、致因信而服、

我乃使徒之微者、曾窘逐上帝會、不堪稱為使徒也、

我在聖徒中、乃微之又微者、尚蒙此恩、俾以基督莫測之富有宣諸異邦、

人多就之、曰、約翰未行異蹟、而所指斯人言者、皆真也、

彼乃燈、燃且明也、爾暫喜其光、

夫我洗爾以水、俾爾改悔、但後我來者、尤勝於我、即攜其履、我亦弗堪、彼將洗爾以聖神及火焉、

故廢此誡至微之一、又以是訓人者、在天國必謂之至微、惟遵行之、且以訓人者、在天國必謂之大也、

耶和華裹其民之創、醫其扑傷之日、月光皎若日光、日光加以七倍、如七日之朗曜、○

若此生之事是鞫、乃使會中之卑無足數者鞫之耶、

耶穌此言、指信之者將受之聖神、蓋聖神尚未降、因耶穌未榮也、

世人於上帝前、何能為義、婦所生者、何能為潔、

世人維何、能為潔乎、婦所生者維何、得稱義乎、

即後我而來、我解其履帶、亦弗堪焉、

孰能出潔者於不潔、無一能之、

語門徒曰、凡以我名接斯孩提者、即接我也、接我者、即接遣我者也、夫爾中最微者、乃為大也、○

由婦所生之人、時日短促、憂苦充盈、

故以色列之上帝耶和華曰、昔我有言、爾與爾祖之家、將恆久行於我前、今我則曰、決不如是、凡尊我者、我必重之、凡藐我者、我必輕之、

蓋上帝為我儕所備尤善、使彼外乎我儕者、不得完全也、

是日耶和華必扞衛耶路撒冷居民、其中懦弱者將如大衛、大衛家將如上帝、如耶和華之使、在於其前者、

約翰為之證、呼曰、我言後我來者、乃為我先、以其先我而在、即斯人也、

蓋彼將於主前為大、清酒醇醪皆不飲、自母胎而聖神充之、

彼必興、我必衰、

我生於愆尤、在母妊中、即負罪兮、

我儕亦嘗出入其中、徇形軀之情、行身心之欲、本為服怒之輩、如他人然、

斯救也、諸先知預言將臨於爾之恩者、且探索而研究之、

今由我救者基督耶穌之顯而彰著、彼已廢死、且以福音俾維生與不朽者昭明、

即歷世歷代所隱之奧秘、而今顯於聖徒者、上帝樂以此奧秘之榮之富、示之異邦、即基督在爾衷、為有榮之望焉、
