Yes, Father, for this was your gracious will. All things have been given to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son decides to reveal him.”Then Jesus turned to his disciples and said privately,“ Blessed are the eyes that see what you see!For I tell you that many prophets and kings longed to see what you see but did not see it, and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”

Mark 4:10-12
When he was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. He said to them,“ The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. 1 Corinthians 1 18-1 Corinthians 1 29
For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.For it is written,“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and I will thwart the cleverness of the intelligent.”Where is the wise man? Where is the expert in the Mosaic law? Where is the debater of this age? Has God not made the wisdom of the world foolish? For since in the wisdom of God the world by its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased to save those who believe by the foolishness of preaching. For Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks ask for wisdom, but we preach about a crucified Christ, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles. But to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak to shame the strong.God chose what is low and despised in the world, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something,so that no one can boast in his presence.
-
1 Corinthians 2 6-1 Corinthians 2 8
Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing.Instead we speak the wisdom of God, hidden in a mystery, that God determined before the ages for our glory.None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

so that the word of Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled. He said,“ Lord, who has believed our message, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”For this reason they could not believe, because again Isaiah said,“ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and turn to me, and I would heal them.”

He replied,“ You have been given the opportunity to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but they have not.For whoever has will be given more, and will have an abundance. But whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him.For this reason I speak to them in parables: Although they see they do not see, and although they hear they do not hear nor do they understand. And concerning them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled that says:‘ You will listen carefully yet will never understand, you will look closely yet will never comprehend. For the heart of this people has become dull; they are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes, so that they would not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.’“ But your eyes are blessed because they see, and your ears because they hear.

I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”I answered,“ Oh, Lord GOD, I really do not know how to speak well enough for that, for I am too young.”The LORD said to me,“ Do not say,‘ I am too young.’ But go to whomever I send you and say whatever I tell you.Do not be afraid of those to whom I send you, for I will be with you to protect you,” says the LORD.

For the LORD has poured out on you a strong urge to sleep deeply. He has shut your eyes( the prophets), and covered your heads( the seers). To you this entire prophetic revelation is like words in a sealed scroll. When they hand it to one who can read and say,“ Read this,” he responds,“ I can’t, because it is sealed.”Or when they hand the scroll to one who can’t read and say,“ Read this,” he says,“ I can’t read.”The sovereign master says,“ These people say they are loyal to me; they say wonderful things about me, but they are not really loyal to me. Their worship consists of nothing but man- made ritual. Therefore I will again do an amazing thing for these people– an absolutely extraordinary deed. Wise men will have nothing to say, the sages will have no explanations.”

1 Samuel 3 4-1 Samuel 3 21
The LORD called to Samuel, and he replied,“ Here I am!”Then he ran to Eli and said,“ Here I am, for you called me.” But Eli said,“ I didn’t call you. Go back and lie down.” So he went back and lay down. The LORD again called,“ Samuel!” So Samuel got up and went to Eli and said,“ Here I am, for you called me.” But Eli said,“ I didn’t call you, my son. Go back and lie down.”Now Samuel did not yet know the LORD; the word of the LORD had not yet been revealed to him. Then the LORD called Samuel a third time. So he got up and went to Eli and said,“ Here I am, for you called me!” Eli then realized that it was the LORD who was calling the boy.So Eli said to Samuel,“ Go back and lie down. When he calls you, say,“ Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.” So Samuel went back and lay down in his place. Then the LORD came and stood nearby, calling as he had previously done,“ Samuel! Samuel!” Samuel replied,“ Speak, for your servant is listening!”The LORD said to Samuel,“ Look! I am about to do something in Israel; when anyone hears about it, both of his ears will tingle. On that day I will carry out against Eli everything that I spoke about his house– from start to finish! You should tell him that I am about to judge his house forever because of the sin that he knew about. For his sons were cursing God, and he did not rebuke them. Therefore I swore an oath to the house of Eli,‘ The sin of the house of Eli can never be forgiven by sacrifice or by grain offering.’”So Samuel lay down until morning. Then he opened the doors of the LORD’s house. But Samuel was afraid to tell Eli about the vision. However, Eli called Samuel and said,“ Samuel, my son!” He replied,“ Here I am.”Eli said,“ What message did he speak to you? Don’t conceal it from me. God will judge you severely if you conceal from me anything that he said to you!”So Samuel told him everything. He did not hold back anything from him. Eli said,“ The LORD will do what he pleases.”Samuel continued to grow, and the LORD was with him. None of his prophecies fell to the ground unfulfilled. All Israel from Dan to Beer Sheba realized that Samuel was confirmed as a prophet of the LORD.Then the LORD again appeared in Shiloh, for it was in Shiloh that the LORD had revealed himself to Samuel through the word of the LORD.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing, among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of those who do not believe so they would not see the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God.For we do not proclaim ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said“ Let light shine out of darkness,” is the one who shined in our hearts to give us the light of the glorious knowledge of God in the face of Christ.

Guard against self- deception, each of you. If someone among you thinks he is wise in this age, let him become foolish so that he can become wise. For the wisdom of this age is foolishness with God. As it is written,“ He catches the wise in their craftiness.”And again,“ The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”
