「你們知道樹好，果子也好；又知道樹壞，果子也壞；因為看果子就可以知道樹。

“你们或以为树好，果子也好；树坏，果子也坏；因为看果子就可以知道树。

“好树结好果子，坏树结坏果子，看果子就能知道树的好坏。

“你们种好树就结好果子，种坏树就结坏果子；凭着果子就能认出树来。

“你们让一棵树好，它的果子就好；你们让一棵树坏，它的果子就坏；这样，一棵树是凭着果子被认出来。

「你們或以為樹好，果子也好；樹壞，果子也壞；因為看果子就可以知道樹。

「你們知道樹好，果子也好；又知道樹壞，果子也壞；因為看果子就可以知道樹。

「好樹結好果子，壞樹結壞果子，看果子就能知道樹的好壞。

“你們種好樹就結好果子，種壞樹就結壞果子；憑著果子就能認出樹來。

『你們要認清，或是說樹好，而它的果子也好；或是說樹壞，而它的果子也壞：樹是由果子而被認識的。

「你們讓一棵樹好，它的果子就好；你們讓一棵樹壞，它的果子就壞；這樣，一棵樹是憑著果子被認出來。

或以樹善、其果亦善、樹惡、其果亦惡、蓋由果而識樹矣、

果善、則謂其樹善、果惡、則謂其樹惡、蓋由果而識樹矣、

爾或以樹為善、其果亦善、或以樹為惡、其果亦惡、蓋觀果而知樹矣、

若云菓美、則樹亦美；若云樹惡、則菓亦惡。樹之美惡、因菓而知也。

豈能在荊棘上摘葡萄呢？豈能在蒺藜裏摘無花果呢？憑着他們的果子，就可以認出他們來。這樣，凡好樹都結好果子，而壞樹結壞果子。好樹不能結壞果子，壞樹也不能結好果子。凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。所以，憑着他們的果子就可以認出他們來。」

要親近神，神就必親近你們。有罪的人哪，要潔淨你們的手！心懷二意的人哪，要清潔你們的心！

要恨惡邪惡，喜愛良善，在城門口秉公行義；或者耶和華－萬軍之神會施恩給約瑟的餘民。

你們要把所犯的一切罪過盡行拋棄，為自己造一個新的心和新的靈。以色列家啊，你們為甚麼要死呢？

主對他說：「如今你們法利賽人洗淨杯盤的外面，你們裏面卻滿了貪婪和邪惡。無知的人哪！造外面的，不也造了裏面嗎？

你們要結出果子來，和悔改的心相稱。不要自己心裏說：『我們有亞伯拉罕為祖宗。』我告訴你們，神能從這些石頭中給亞伯拉罕興起子孫來。現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。

你這瞎眼的法利賽人，先洗淨杯子的裏面，好使外面也乾淨了。

你們要常在我裏面，我也常在你們裏面。枝子若不常在葡萄樹上，自己就不能結果子；你們若不常在我裏面，也是這樣。我就是葡萄樹，你們是枝子。常在我裏面的，我也常在他裏面，這人就多結果子，因為離了我，你們就不能做甚麼。人若不常在我裏面，就像枝子被丟在外面，枯乾了，人撿起來，扔進火裏燒了。你們若常在我裏面，我的話也常在你們裏面，凡你們想要的，祈求，就給你們成全。

我的弟兄們，無花果樹能生橄欖嗎？葡萄樹能結無花果嗎？鹹水也不能流出甜水來。

現在斧子已經放在樹根上，凡不結好果子的樹就砍下來，丟在火裏。」
