“ When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.

“ What happens when an evil spirit comes out of a person? It goes through dry areas looking for a place to rest. But it doesn’t find it.

“ When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

“ When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none.

“ When an unclean spirit comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any.

“ Now when the unclean spirit comes out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.

邪鬼既出其人、遊行旱地、求安不得、曰、我將返我所出之室、至、則見其掃除修飾矣、遂往、又攜七鬼更惡於己者、入而居之、其人之後況、較前尤劇矣、○

見耶穌、遂號呼而伏其前、大聲曰、至高上帝子耶穌、我與爾何涉、求爾莫我苦、蓋耶穌已命邪鬼出其人也、此鬼屢強拘之、人雖以鏈與桎繫而守之、彼斷其繫具、而被鬼逐於野、耶穌問之曰、爾何名、對曰、羣、以有多鬼憑之也、遂求耶穌毋令入淵、在山有羣豕方食、鬼求耶穌許其入豕、許之、

主耶和華曰、時日將至、我必使饑饉臨於斯土、人之飢也、非因無糧無水、乃因未聽耶和華之言也、人必踉蹌而行、自此海至彼海、自北至東、疾趨往來、尋耶和華之言而不得、是日也、美女少男、必因渴而疲憊、

我將濬河於童山、出泉於幽谷、使曠野成池沼、旱地為源泉、

呼曰、上帝子、我與爾何與、時未至、爾來苦我乎、

大呼曰、至高上帝子耶穌、我與爾何涉、我賴上帝、懇爾莫我苦、蓋耶穌曾語之曰、邪鬼出其人也、遂問之曰、爾何名、對曰、軍、我儕多故也、乃切求耶穌、勿使之出境、適有羣豕食於山、眾鬼求曰、使我入附於豕、耶穌許之、即出而入豕、羣豕突下山坡、投海而溺、數約二千、

耶和華謂撒但曰、爾奚自、對曰、徧歷塵寰、往來其間而返、

其人謂我曰、此水流於東方、下至亞拉巴、而入於海、既入於海、海水變甘、此河所至之地、諸動物必得滋生、鱗族繁衍、斯水既至、海水變甘、所至之處、百物生焉、漁人必立河濱、自隱基底至隱以革蓮、為張網之所、其中之魚、種類俱備、厥數繁多、若大海之魚然、惟其淤地水澤、水不變甘、留為斥鹵、河濱左右、生長各樹、其實可餐、其葉不凋、其果不斷、因水出於聖所、月結新實、果可為食、葉可醫疾、○

上帝歟、爾為我上帝、我懇切尋爾、在旱乾困人、無水之地、我心渴想爾、我身切慕爾兮、

宜節制儆醒、爾敵乃魔、如吼獅徧行、覓可吞噬者、

西門亦信、既受洗、常偕腓利、見其所行之異蹟大能而驚異焉、○
