When an unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places, seeking rest, and doesn’t find it.

邪魔離人、游行旱地、求安而不得、

邪魔離人、徘徊於無水之地、欲覓一安身之所而不可得

“ When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it.

“ What happens when an evil spirit comes out of a person? It goes through dry areas looking for a place to rest. But it doesn’t find it.

“ When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, but finds none.

“ When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none.

“ When an unclean spirit comes out of a person, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any.

“ Now when the unclean spirit comes out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it.

“ When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none.

But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, and findeth it not.

“ When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it roams through waterless places looking for rest but doesn’t find any.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.

“ When an unclean spirit goes out of a person, it passes through waterless places looking for rest but does not find it.

The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says,‘ I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said,“ What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bonds apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.Jesus asked him,“ What is your name?” He said,“ Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. Then he allowed them.

Behold, the days come,” says the Lord Yahweh,“ that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing Yahweh’s words.They will wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east; they will run back and forth to seek Yahweh’s word, and will not find it.In that day the beautiful virgins and the young men will faint for thirst.

I will open rivers on the bare heights, and springs in the middle of the valleys. I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.

Behold, they cried out, saying,“ What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

and crying out with a loud voice, he said,“ What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don’t torment me.”For he said to him,“ Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!”He asked him,“ What is your name?” He said to him,“ My name is Legion, for we are many.”He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country.Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding.All the demons begged him, saying,“ Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them.”At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea.

Yahweh said to Satan,“ Where have you come from?” Then Satan answered Yahweh, and said,“ From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Yahweh said to Satan,“ Where have you come from?” Satan answered Yahweh, and said,“ From going back and forth in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.”

Then the lame man will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will sing; for waters will break out in the wilderness, and streams in the desert.The burning sand will become a pool, and the thirsty ground springs of water. Grass with reeds and rushes will be in the habitation of jackals, where they lay.

Then he said to me,“ These waters flow out toward the eastern region, and will go down into the Arabah. Then they will go toward the sea; and flow into the sea which will be made to flow out; and the waters will be healed.It will happen, that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes.It will happen, that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many.But the miry places of it, and its marshes, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt.By the river on its bank, on this side and on that side, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its waters issue out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing.”

God, you are my God. I will earnestly seek you. My soul thirsts for you. My flesh longs for you, in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.

Be sober and self- controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Simon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.
