So His brothers said to Him,“ Move on from here and go into Judea, so that Your disciples also may see Your works which You are doing.

Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? And are His sisters not here with us?” And they took offense at Him.

Now His mother and brothers came to Him, and they were unable to get to Him because of the crowd.And it was reported to Him,“ Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, wishing to see You.”But He answered and said to them,“ My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

But when His brothers had gone up to the feast, then He Himself also went up, not publicly, but as though in secret.

Then His mother and His brothers* came, and while standing outside they sent word to Him, calling for Him.And a crowd was sitting around Him, and they* said to Him,“ Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are outside looking for You.”Answering them, He* said,“ Who are My mother and My brothers?”And looking around at those who were sitting around Him, He* said,“ Here are My mother and My brothers!For whoever does the will of God, this is My brother, and sister, and mother.”

Now beside the cross of Jesus stood His mother, His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

And He said,“ To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest they are told in parables, so that while seeing they may not see, and while hearing they may not understand.

Now the birth of Jesus the Messiah was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit.

And how has it happened to me that the mother of my Lord would come to me?

And His father and mother were amazed at the things which were being said about Him.

His mother* said to the servants,“ Whatever He tells you, do it.”

“ No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; otherwise, the patch pulls away from it, the new from the old, and a worse tear results.

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there;

Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord* appeared to Joseph in a dream and said,“ Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to kill Him.”So Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt.

And He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and He continued to be subject to them; and His mother treasured all these things in her heart.

And after they came into the house, they saw the Child with His mother Mary; and they fell down and worshiped Him. Then they opened their treasures and presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

When Joseph and Mary saw Him, they were bewildered; and His mother said to Him,“ Son, why have You treated us this way? Behold, Your father and I have been anxiously looking for You!”

“ Get up, take the Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel; for those who sought the Child’s life are dead.”
