Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd.And it was told Him by some, who said,“ Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.”But He answered and said to them,“ My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.”

But when His brothers had gone up, then He also went up to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.

Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him.And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him,“ Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.”But He answered them, saying,“ Who is My mother, or My brothers?”And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said,“ Here are My mother and My brothers!For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother.”

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.

And He said,“ To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that‘ Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.’

Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit.

But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him.

His mother said to the servants,“ Whatever He says to you, do it.”

No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse.

On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying,“ Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt,

Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart.

And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him,“ Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”

saying,“ Arise, take the young Child and His mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who sought the young Child’s life are dead.”
