After the wedding he went to Capernaum for a few days with his mother, his brothers, and his disciples.

For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.

Don’t we have the right to bring a believing wife with us as the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?

and Jesus’ brothers said to him,“ Leave here and go to Judea, where your followers can see your miracles!

Then they scoffed,“ He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him.

Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd.Someone told Jesus,“ Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to see you.”Jesus replied,“ My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”

But after his brothers left for the festival, Jesus also went, though secretly, staying out of public view.

Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him. They stood outside and sent word for him to come out and talk with them.There was a crowd sitting around Jesus, and someone said,“ Your mother and your brothers are outside asking for you.”Jesus replied,“ Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?”Then he looked at those around him and said,“ Look, these are my mother and brothers.Anyone who does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary( the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene.

He replied,“ You are permitted to understand the secrets of the Kingdom of God. But I use parables to teach the others so that the Scriptures might be fulfilled:‘ When they look, they won’t really see. When they hear, they won’t understand.’

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Why am I so honored, that the mother of my Lord should visit me?

Jesus’ parents were amazed at what was being said about him.

But his mother told the servants,“ Do whatever he tells you.”

“ Besides, who would patch old clothing with new cloth? For the new patch would shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before.

The next day there was a wedding celebration in the village of Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there,

After the wise men were gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.“ Get up! Flee to Egypt with the child and his mother,” the angel said.“ Stay there until I tell you to return, because Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”That night Joseph left for Egypt with the child and Mary, his mother,

Then he returned to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. And his mother stored all these things in her heart.

They entered the house and saw the child with his mother, Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

His parents didn’t know what to think.“ Son,” his mother said to him,“ why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been frantic, searching for you everywhere.”

“ Get up!” the angel said.“ Take the child and his mother back to the land of Israel, because those who were trying to kill the child are dead.”
