Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

Then Jesus told his disciples,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

不背着他的十字架跟从我的，也不配作我的门徒。

凡不背着自己十字架跟从我的，也不能作我的门徒。

基督既在肉身受苦，你们也当将这样的心志作为兵器，因为在肉身受过苦的，就已经与罪断绝了。你们存这样的心，从今以后就可以不从人的情欲，只从神的旨意在世度余下的光阴。

耶稣看着他，就爱他，对他说：“你还缺少一件：去变卖你所有的，分给穷人，就必有财宝在天上；你还要来跟从我。”

耶稣又对众人说：“若有人要跟从我，就当舍己，天天背起他的十字架来跟从我。因为，凡要救自己生命的，必丧掉生命；凡为我丧掉生命的，必救了生命。人若赚得全世界，却丧了自己，赔上自己，有什么益处呢？凡把我和我的道当作可耻的，人子在自己的荣耀里，并天父与圣天使的荣耀里降临的时候，也要把那人当作可耻的。我实在告诉你们，站在这里的，有人在没尝死味以前，必看见神的国。”

不但如此，凡立志在基督耶稣里敬虔度日的也都要受逼迫。

于是叫众人和门徒来，对他们说：“若有人要跟从我，就当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。

摩西因着信，长大了就不肯称为法老女儿之子。他宁可和神的百姓同受苦害，也不愿暂时享受罪中之乐。他看为基督受的凌辱比埃及的财物更宝贵，因他想望所要得的赏赐。

现在我为你们受苦，倒觉欢乐；并且为基督的身体，就是为教会，要在我肉身上补满基督患难的缺欠。

坚固门徒的心，劝他们恒守所信的道；又说：“我们进入神的国，必须经历许多艰难。”

他们就把耶稣带了去。耶稣背着自己的十字架出来，到了一个地方，名叫“髑髅地”，希伯来话叫各各他。

免得有人被诸般患难摇动。因为你们自己知道，我们受患难原是命定的。

有一个古利奈人西门，就是亚历山大和鲁孚的父亲，从乡下来，经过那地方，他们就勉强他同去，好背着耶稣的十字架。

他们出来的时候，遇见一个古利奈人，名叫西门，就勉强他同去，好背着耶稣的十字架。

带耶稣去的时候，有一个古利奈人西门，从乡下来；他们就抓住他，把十字架搁在他身上，叫他背着跟随耶稣。
