And someone from the crowd answered him,“ Teacher, I brought my son to you, for he has a spirit that makes him mute.And whenever it seizes him, it throws him down, and he foams and grinds his teeth and becomes rigid. So I asked your disciples to cast it out, and they were not able.”

And the demons begged him, saying,“ If you cast us out, send us away into the herd of pigs.”And he said to them,“ Go.” So they came out and went into the pigs, and behold, the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea and drowned in the waters.

for he had often been bound with shackles and chains, but he wrenched the chains apart, and he broke the shackles in pieces. No one had the strength to subdue him.Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was always crying out and cutting himself with stones.

So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill.When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with loathsome sores from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head.

Then came one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name, and seeing him, he fell at his feetand implored him earnestly, saying,“ My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.”

You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”And the Lord said to Satan,“ Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,and there came a messenger to Job and said,“ The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ The Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”While he was yet speaking, there came another and said,“ Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”

And behold, a man from the crowd cried out,“ Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.And behold, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out. It convulses him so that he foams at the mouth, and shatters him, and will hardly leave him.And I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not.”Jesus answered,“ O faithless and twisted generation, how long am I to be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here.”While he was coming, the demon threw him to the ground and convulsed him. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
