But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,

But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

耶穌父母、遵主例既竟、歸加利利拿撒勒故鄉、

爾或偏於左、偏於右、聲從後至、聞於耳畔曰、此其道也、爾當遵循、

時耶穌自加利利至約但、就約翰受洗、

曰、爾必遁逃、以全生命、毋回顧、毋止於平原、當避於山、否則必亡、羅得曰、主不可、僕蒙爾恩、施我以莫大之仁慈、全我生命、茲若避於山、恐遭災害、亦終必亡、附近有小邑、易以逃匿、是小邑容我逃匿、以全我命。曰許汝所求、爾所言之邑、我不翦滅。

患難之時、呼籲耶和華、蒙其援手兮、導之行於坦途、使得城垣、可以托足兮。

思念間、主之使者見夢曰、大闢之裔約瑟、其取爾妻馬利亞以歸、勿疑、蓋所孕者、感於聖神也、

上帝兮、我之上帝兮、日久月長、必眷佑予、至死不廢兮、

博士夢中得默示、令勿反見希律、則由他途而歸、○既歸、主之使者見夢於約瑟曰、起、攜嬰及母奔埃及、寓彼、待余示爾、蓋希律將索嬰殺之、

願爾以智慧之心、導予入榮光之域兮。

亞拿尼亞曰、主、我聞人言、彼在耶路撒冷、困苦聖徒、今至此、得祭司諸長權、欲繫籲爾名者、

曰、爾亦來自加利利乎、可考而知、無先知由加利利起也、

自茲以後、或進或出、咸蒙耶和華眷佑、永世靡暨兮、

撒母耳曰、掃羅聞之必殺我、若何可往。耶和華曰、爾可備犢、言欲獻於我、

以色列族之聖主、救主耶和華、告選民曰、我乃爾之上帝耶和華、我示爾以獲益之方、導爾以當行之道。願爾恪遵我命、享綏安、若江河之浩渺、得仁義、若波濤之洶湧。

希律既薨、主之使者、在埃及見夢於約瑟曰、

有曰、基督、有曰、基督豈出自加利利乎、記不云、基督為大闢裔、出自大闢所居伯利恆鄉乎、
