吾豈不能從心所欲、處吾之所有乎？吾之慷慨、乃使爾側目耶？」

For He says to Moses,“ I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.”So then, it does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy.For the Scripture says to Pharaoh,“ For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.”So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.You will say to me then,“ Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder,“ Why did you make me like this,” will it?Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object for honorable use, and another for common use?What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction?And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory,namely us, whom He also called, not only from among Jews, but also from among Gentiles,

Be careful that there is no mean spirited thought in your heart, such as,‘ The seventh year, the year of release of debts, is near,’ and your eye is malicious toward your poor brother, and you give him nothing; then he may cry out to the Lord against you, and it will be a sin in you.

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

A person with an evil eye hurries after wealth And does not know that poverty will come upon him.

‘ I have made the earth, mankind, and the animals which are on the face of the earth by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and I will give it to the one who is pleasing in My sight.And now I have handed all these lands over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and I have also given him the animals of the field to serve him.All the nations shall serve him and his son and his grandson until the time of his own land comes; then many nations and great kings will make him their servant.

Yet, the Lord, the God of Israel, chose me from all the household of my father to be king over Israel forever. For He has chosen Judah to be a leader; and in the house of Judah, my father’s house, and among the sons of my father He took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.Of all my sons( for the Lord has given me many sons), He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

Do not complain, brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door.

In the exercise of His will He gave us birth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.
