“ He will bring those wretches to a wretched end,” they replied,“ and he will rent the vineyard to other tenants, who will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”

“ He will destroy those evil people,” they replied.“ Then he will rent the vineyard out to other renters. They will give him his share of the crop at harvest time.”

They said to him,“ He will put those wretches to a miserable death and let out the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the fruits in their seasons.”

The religious leaders replied,“ He will put the wicked men to a horrible death and lease the vineyard to others who will give him his share of the crop after each harvest.”

“ He will completely destroy those terrible men,” they told him,“ and lease his vineyard to other farmers who will give him his fruit at the harvest.”

They* said to Him,“ He will bring those wretches to a wretched end and lease the vineyard to other vine growers, who will pay him the fruit in the proper seasons.”

They said to Him,“ He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will let out the vineyard unto other husbandmen, who shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

“ He will completely destroy those terrible men,” they told Him,“ and lease his vineyard to other farmers who will give him his produce at the harvest.”

They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out[ his] vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.

They said to him,“ He will utterly destroy those evil men! Then he will lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his portion at the harvest.”

When they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his clothing and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on, I will go to the Gentiles!”

“ Therefore I tell you, God’s Kingdom will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation producing its fruit.

“ Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the nations, and they will listen.”

He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord will have them in derision.Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

and that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written,“ Therefore I will give praise to you among the Gentiles and sing to your name.”Again he says,“ Rejoice, you Gentiles, with his people.”Again,“ Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Let all the peoples praise him.”Again, Isaiah says,“ There will be the root of Jesse, he who arises to rule over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles will hope.”Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit.I myself am also persuaded about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish others.But I write the more boldly to you in part, as reminding you, because of the grace that was given to me by God,that I should be a servant of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles, serving as a priest of the Good News of God, that the offering up of the Gentiles might be made acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.I have therefore my boasting in Christ Jesus in things pertaining to God.For I will not dare to speak of any things except those which Christ worked through me, for the obedience of the Gentiles, by word and deed,

The father of Publius lay sick of fever and dysentery. Paul entered in to him, prayed, and laying his hands on him, healed him.

“ For, behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace; and all the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble; and the day that comes will burn them up,” says Yahweh of Armies,“ that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.But to you who fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in its wings. You will go out, and leap like calves of the stall.You shall tread down the wicked; for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I make,” says Yahweh of Armies.“ Remember the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Israel, even statutes and ordinances.Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, to fill up their sins always. But wrath has come on them to the uttermost.

You will leave your name for a curse to my chosen; and the Lord Yahweh will kill you. He will call his servants by another name,

You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Now Yahweh, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, says to bring Jacob again to him, and to gather Israel to him, for I am honorable in Yahweh’s eyes, and my God has become my strength.Indeed, he says,“ It is too light a thing that you should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give you as a light to the nations, that you may be my salvation to the end of the earth.”Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, says to him whom man despises, to him whom the nation abhors, to a servant of rulers:“ Kings shall see and rise up, princes, and they shall worship, because of Yahweh who is faithful, even the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me.Then I said,“ I will not feed you. That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let those who are left eat each other’s flesh.”I took my staff Favor, and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples.

and the rest grabbed his servants, and treated them shamefully, and killed them.When the king heard that, he was angry, and sent his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned their city.

For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land, and wrath to this people.They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

for then there will be great suffering, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever will be.Unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved. But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.

After the sixty- two weeks the Anointed One will be cut off, and will have nothing. The people of the prince who come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. Its end will be with a flood, and war will be even to the end. Desolations are determined.

I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

“ I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape of them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to far- away islands, who have not heard my fame, nor have seen my glory; and they shall declare my glory among the nations.They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh’s house.Of them I will also select priests and Levites,” says Yahweh.

“ The lord said to the servant,‘ Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.For I tell you that none of those men who were invited will taste of my supper.’”

Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, and said,“ It was necessary that God’s word should be spoken to you first. Since indeed you thrust it from yourselves, and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.For so has the Lord commanded us, saying,‘ I have set you as a light for the Gentiles, that you should bring salvation to the uttermost parts of the earth.’”As the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of God. As many as were appointed to eternal life believed.

The land will mourn, every family apart; the family of David’s house apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them,“ Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News and believe.

See that you don’t refuse him who speaks. For if they didn’t escape when they refused him who warned on the earth, how much more will we not escape who turn away from him who warns from heaven,

It shall happen that in all the land,” says Yahweh,“ two parts in it will be cut off and die; but the third will be left in it.

“‘ But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments,and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant,I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.“‘ If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like bronze.Your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won’t yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.“‘ If you walk contrary to me, and won’t listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number. Your roads will become desolate.“‘ If by these things you won’t be turned back to me, but will walk contrary to me,then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.I will bring a sword upon you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant. You will be gathered together within your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you. You will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight. You shall eat, and not be satisfied.“‘ If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me,then I will walk contrary to you in wrath. The sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword. They will fall when no one pursues.They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues. You will have no power to stand before your enemies.You will perish among the nations. The land of your enemies will eat you up.Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers they shall pine away with them.“‘ If they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me; and also that because they walked contrary to me,I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies; if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity,then I will remember my covenant with Jacob, my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its Sabbaths while it lies desolate without them; and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God.But I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Yahweh.’”These are the statutes, ordinances, and laws, which Yahweh made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.

His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor. He will gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.”

then Yahweh will make your plagues and the plagues of your offspring fearful, even great plagues, and of long duration, and severe sicknesses, and of long duration.He will bring on you again all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they will cling to you.Also every sickness and every plague which is not written in the book of this law, Yahweh will bring them on you until you are destroyed.You will be left few in number, even though you were as the stars of the sky for multitude, because you didn’t listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.It will happen that as Yahweh rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you, so Yahweh will rejoice over you to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be plucked from the land that you are going in to possess.Yahweh will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth. There you will serve other gods which you have not known, you nor your fathers, even wood and stone.Among these nations you will find no ease, and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot; but Yahweh will give you there a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and pining of soul.Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be afraid night and day, and will have no assurance of your life.In the morning you will say,“ I wish it were evening!” and at evening you will say,“ I wish it were morning!” for the fear of your heart which you will fear, and for the sights which your eyes will see.Yahweh will bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way of which I told to you that you would never see it again. There you will offer yourselves to your enemies for male and female slaves, and nobody will buy you.

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.Most certainly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.“ Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I would have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not!Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spiritthat I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the fleshwho are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises;of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel that are of Israel.Neither, because they are Abraham’s offspring, are they all children. But,“ your offspring will be accounted as from Isaac.”That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as heirs.For this is a word of promise,“ At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”Not only so, but Rebekah also conceived by one, by our father Isaac.For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,

Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall, and it will be trampled down.I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned or hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry of distress.

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city will be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city will go out into captivity, and the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city.Then Yahweh will go out and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.

Remember Lot’s wife!Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. One will be taken and the other will be left.There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken and the other will be left.”

When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,saying,“ If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.For the days will come on you, when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation— which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard,
