事实上，所有作恶的人，都憎恨光，不来到光那里，免得自己的行为被揭露出来；

如果你说：“看哪，我不知道这事！”难道衡量人心的那一位不了解吗？难道守护你灵魂的那一位不知道吗？难道他不照着各人所做的回报各人吗？

‘看吧，你们这些好讥诮的人哪！惊奇吧，灭亡吧！因为在你们的时代里，我要做一件事，就算有人向你们详细说明，你们也绝不会相信。’”

挪亚的那些日子怎样，人子的来临也将要怎样。

这样的人不明白，也不领悟，因为耶和华蒙蔽他们的眼使他们不能看见，蒙蔽他们的心使他们不能明悟。他们不反思，也没有知识和聪慧来说：“我用一半的木头烧火，又在火炭上烘饼，烤肉吃。我怎么能用剩下的木头制造可憎之物呢？我怎么能向一块木头膜拜呢？”

所以他把猛烈的怒火和惨烈的战火都倾泻在以色列身上；火就在他们四围烧起，他们却不明白，火烧着了他们，他们也不放在心上。

义人明白贫弱者的争讼，恶人却无知、不能领悟。

而且，他们要将你和你里面的儿女猛摔在地，不容你里面有一块石头留在另一块石头上，因为你没有认出神临到你的时候。”

我之所以用比喻对他们说，是因为他们虽然看了，却看不见；听了，却听不进，也不领悟。在他们身上，正应验了以赛亚的预言，他说：‘你们将听了又听，但绝不会领悟；你们将看了又看，但绝不会明白；因为这子民的心麻木了，他们充耳不闻，眼睛闭着；免得他们眼睛看见，耳朵听见，心里领悟，回转过来，我就使他们痊愈。’

既然人不愿意真正认识神，神就任凭他们存败坏的理性，去做那些不该做的事。

他们故意忽略这一点：就是从太古的时候，藉着神的话语有了诸天，也有了从水而出、藉水而成的大地；

“他们打我，我不疼痛；他们击打我，我也不知道。我什么时候醒来呢？我还要继续寻找酒。”
