逾越节以前，耶稣知道自己离开这世界回到父那里去的时候到了。他既然爱世上属于自己的人，就爱他们到底。吃晚饭的时候（魔鬼已经把出卖耶稣的意念放在西门的儿子加略人犹大的心里），

他们聚集在加利利的时候，耶稣对门徒说：“人子将要被交在人的手里，

正如经上指着人子所说的，他固然要离世，但出卖人子的那人有祸了！他没有生下来倒好。”那出卖耶稣的犹大说：“拉比，是我吗？”他说：“这是你说的。”

犹太人的逾越节快到了，有许多人在过节前从各乡上耶路撒冷去，要在那里洁净自己。

他不在这里，已经复活了。你们应当记得他还在加利利的时候，怎样告诉你们，说：‘人子必须被交在罪人手里，钉在十字架上，第三日复活。’”

“你不可把我祭物的血和有酵的饼一同献上，逾越节的祭物也不可留到早晨。

犹太人的逾越节近了，耶稣就上耶路撒冷去。

你们要这样吃羊羔：腰间束上带，脚上穿着鞋，手中拿着杖，快速地吃；这是耶和华的逾越节。因为在那一夜我要走遍埃及地，把埃及地所有头生的，无论是人或是牲畜，都要杀掉；我也要审判埃及的一切神祇，我是耶和华。这血要在你们居住的房屋上作你们的记号；我击打埃及地的时候，一看见这血，就越过你们去，灾祸必不临到你们身上毁灭你们。这一日必作你们的记念日；你们要守这日为耶和华的节；你们要世世代代守这节日作永远的定例。

他说：“我十分愿意在受难以前，跟你们吃这逾越节的晚餐。

“我有罪了！我出卖了无辜的人﹙“人”原文作“血”。﹚！”他们说：“这是你的事，跟我们有什么关系？”

逾越节前六天，耶稣到了伯大尼，就是拉撒路所住的地方；耶稣曾经使这拉撒路从死人中复活。
