祭司长和法利赛人聚集公会，说：“这人行好些神迹，我们怎么办呢？若这样由着他，人人都要信他，罗马人也要来夺我们的地土和我们的百姓。”内中有一个人，名叫该亚法，本年作大祭司，对他们说：“你们不知道什么。独不想一个人替百姓死，免得通国灭亡，就是你们的益处。”他这话不是出于自己，是因他本年作大祭司，所以预言耶稣将要替这一国死；也不但替这一国死，并要将神四散的子民都聚集归一。从那日起，他们就商议要杀耶稣。

亚那就把耶稣解到大祭司该亚法那里，仍是捆着解去的。

彼得远远地跟着耶稣，一直进入大祭司的院里，和差役一同坐在火光里烤火。

你曾藉着圣灵，托你仆人、我们祖宗大卫的口，说：‘外邦为什么争闹？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰也聚集，要敌挡主，并主的受膏者。’希律和本丢彼拉多，外邦人和以色列民，果然在这城里聚集，要攻打你所膏的圣仆耶稣，成就你手和你意旨所预定必有的事。

先带到亚那面前，因为亚那是本年作大祭司该亚法的岳父。这该亚法就是从前向犹太人发议论说“一个人替百姓死是有益的”那位。西门彼得跟着耶稣，还有一个门徒跟着。那门徒是大祭司所认识的，他就同耶稣进了大祭司的院子。

外邦为什么争闹？万民为什么谋算虚妄的事？世上的君王一齐起来，臣宰一同商议，要敌挡耶和华并他的受膏者，

那时，祭司长和法利赛人早已吩咐说，若有人知道耶稣在哪里，就要报明，好去拿他。

众人将耶稣从该亚法那里往衙门内解去，那时天还早。他们自己却不进衙门，恐怕染了污秽，不能吃逾越节的筵席。

拿耶稣的人把他带到大祭司该亚法那里去；文士和长老已经在那里聚会。彼得远远地跟着耶稣，直到大祭司的院子，进到里面，就和差役同坐，要看这事到底怎样。

第二天，官府、长老，和文士在耶路撒冷聚会，又有大祭司亚那和该亚法、约翰、亚历山大，并大祭司的亲族都在那里，

他们聚集，埋伏窥探我的脚踪，等候要害我的命。

要在暗地射完全人；他们忽然射他，并不惧怕。他们彼此勉励设下恶计；他们商量暗设网罗，说：“谁能看见？”他们图谋奸恶，说：“我们是极力图谋的。”他们各人的意念心思是深的。

祭司长和法利赛人听见他的比喻，就看出他是指着他们说的。他们想要捉拿他，只是怕众人，因为众人以他为先知。

我却像柔顺的羊羔被牵到宰杀之地；我并不知道他们设计谋害我，说：“我们把树连果子都灭了吧！将他从活人之地剪除，使他的名不再被纪念。”

那藉着律例架弄残害、在位上行奸恶的，岂能与你相交吗？他们大家聚集攻击义人，将无辜的人定为死罪。

他们就说：“来吧！我们可以设计谋害耶利米；因为我们有祭司讲律法，智慧人设谋略，先知说预言，都不能断绝。来吧！我们可以用舌头击打他，不要理会他的一切话。”耶和华啊，求你理会我，且听那些与我争竞之人的话。岂可以恶报善呢？他们竟挖坑要害我的性命！求你记念我怎样站在你面前为他们代求，要使你的忿怒向他们转消。

你们若不听从我，不以安息日为圣日，仍在安息日担担子，进入耶路撒冷的各门，我必在各门中点火；这火也必烧毁耶路撒冷的宫殿，不能熄灭。”

亚那和该亚法作大祭司。那时，撒迦利亚的儿子约翰在旷野里，神的话临到他。

彼得在外面院子里坐着，有一个使女前来，说：“你素来也是同那加利利人耶稣一伙的。”
