It was Preparation Day. The Sabbath day was about to begin.The women who had come with Jesus from Galilee followed Joseph. They saw the tomb and how Jesus’ body was placed in it.Then they went home. There they prepared spices and perfumes. But they rested on the Sabbath day in order to obey the Law.

It was the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The disciples came to Jesus. They asked,“ Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover meal?”

In fact, Herod and Pontius Pilate met with the Gentiles in this city. They also met with the people of Israel. All of them made plans against your holy servant Jesus. He is the one you anointed.They did what your power and purpose had already decided should happen.

It was Preparation Day. The next day would be a special Sabbath day. The Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath day. So they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down.

It was early in the morning. All the chief priests and the elders of the people planned how to put Jesus to death.So they tied him up and led him away. Then they handed him over to Pilate, who was the governor.
