For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (niv)

“ Who are my mother and my brothers?” he asked.Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said,“ Here are my mother and my brothers!Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.” (niv)

But he said to them,“ It is I; don’t be afraid.” (niv)

While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them,“ Peace be with you.”They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.He said to them,“ Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? (niv)

“ He will reply,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’ (niv)

“ The King will reply,‘ Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (niv)

Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.He says,“ I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.”And again,“ I will put my trust in him.” And again he says,“ Here am I, and the children God has given me.”Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death— that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. (niv)

He replied to him,“ Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?”Pointing to his disciples, he said,“ Here are my mother and my brothers.For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” (niv)

But go, tell his disciples and Peter,‘ He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’” (niv)

The Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever;he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; (niv)

Then they got rid of the foreign gods among them and served the Lord. And he could bear Israel’s misery no longer. (niv)
