耶穌曰、今姑吾許、吾儕當如是以盡禮、乃許之、

耶穌謂之曰、今姑許我、因我儕當如是以盡諸義、約翰乃許之、

耶穌應曰：『茲姑許之、聊以盡義。』如望乃許之。

Jesus replied,“ Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented.

Jesus replied,“ Let it be this way for now. It is right for us to do this. It carries out God’s holy plan.” Then John agreed.

But Jesus answered him,“ Let it be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented.

But Jesus said,“ It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires.” So John agreed to baptize him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John allowed him to be baptized.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he* allowed Him.

But Jesus answered and said to him,“ Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

But Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffereth him.

Jesus answered him,“ Allow it for now, because this is the way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him to be baptized.

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer[ it to be so] now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

So Jesus replied to him,“ Let it happen now, for it is right for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John yielded to him.

But Jesus, answering, said to him,“ Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him.

“ My food,” said Jesus,“ is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. (niv)

The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases him.” (niv)

Then I said,“ Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll.I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” (niv)

To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.“ He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.“ He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness;“ by his wounds you have been healed.” (niv)

If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. (niv)

Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (niv)

I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. (niv)

Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly. (niv)

Jesus replied,“ You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”“ No,” said Peter,“ you shall never wash my feet.” Jesus answered,“ Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”“ Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied,“ not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!” (niv)

It pleased the Lord for the sake of his righteousness to make his law great and glorious. (niv)

rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! (niv)

Such a high priest truly meets our need— one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. (niv)
