世人蒙昧無知的時候，神並不追究，如今卻吩咐各處的人都要悔改。

經上說：『我喜愛憐憫，不喜愛祭祀。』這句話的意思，你們去揣摩。我不是來召義人，而是召罪人。」

所以，你們當悔改歸正，使你們的罪得以塗去，

我告訴你們，一個罪人悔改，在天上也要這樣為他歡喜，比為九十九個不用悔改的義人歡喜還大呢！」

我告訴你們，一個罪人悔改，神的使者也是這樣為他歡喜。」

不論猶太人和希臘人，我都已證明他們當在神面前悔改，信靠我們的主耶穌。

眾人聽見這些話，就不說話了，只歸榮耀給神，說：「這樣看來，神也賜恩給外邦人，使他們悔改得生命了。」

用溫柔勸導反對的人。也許神會給他們悔改的心能明白真理，讓他們這些已被魔鬼擄去順從他詭計的人能醒悟過來，脫離他的羅網。

『就是你們城裏的塵土黏在我們的腳上，我們也當着你們擦去。但是，你們該知道神的國臨近了。』我告訴你們，在那日子，所多瑪所受的，比那城還容易受呢！」「哥拉汛哪，你有禍了！伯賽大啊，你有禍了！因為在你們中間所行的異能，若行在推羅、西頓，他們早已披麻蒙灰，坐在地上悔改了。在審判的時候，推羅和西頓所受的，比你們還容易受呢！

所以，我們應當離開基督道理的基礎，竭力進到成熟的地步；不必再立根基，就如懊悔致死的行為、信靠神、

我先在大馬士革，後在耶路撒冷和猶太全地，以及外邦，勸勉他們應當悔改歸向神，行事與悔改的心相稱。
