因為我們得知真道以後，若故意犯罪，贖罪的祭就再沒有了；惟有戰懼等候審判和那燒滅眾敵人的烈火。人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩三個見證人，尚且不得憐恤而死，何況人踐踏神的兒子，將那使他成聖之約的血當作平常，又褻慢施恩的聖靈，你們想，他要受的刑罰該怎樣加重呢！因為我們知道誰說：「伸冤在我，我必報應」；又說：「主要審判他的百姓。」落在永生神的手裏，真是可怕的！

倘若他們因認識主－救主耶穌基督，得以脫離世上的污穢，後來又在其中被纏住、制伏，他們末後的景況就比先前更不好了。他們曉得義路，竟背棄了傳給他們的聖命，倒不如不曉得為妙。俗語說得真不錯：狗所吐的，牠轉過來又吃；豬洗淨了又回到泥裏去滾；這話在他們身上正合式。

凡聽見天國道理不明白的，那惡者就來，把所撒在他心裏的奪了去；這就是撒在路旁的了。撒在石頭地上的，就是人聽了道，當下歡喜領受，只因心裏沒有根，不過是暫時的，及至為道遭了患難，或是受了逼迫，立刻就跌倒了。撒在荊棘裏的，就是人聽了道，後來有世上的思慮、錢財的迷惑把道擠住了，不能結實。

各人的工程必然顯露，因為那日子要將它表明出來，有火發現；這火要試驗各人的工程怎樣。

因為他們誘惑我的百姓，說：『平安！』其實沒有平安，就像有人立起牆壁，他們倒用未泡透的灰抹上。所以你要對那些抹上未泡透灰的人說：『牆要倒塌，必有暴雨漫過。大冰雹啊，你們要降下，狂風也要吹裂這牆。』這牆倒塌之後，人豈不問你們說：『你們抹上未泡透的灰在哪裏呢？』」所以主耶和華如此說：「我要發怒，使狂風吹裂這牆，在怒中使暴雨漫過，又發怒降下大冰雹，毀滅這牆。我要這樣拆毀你們那未泡透灰所抹的牆，拆平到地，以致根基露出，牆必倒塌，你們也必在其中滅亡；你們就知道我是耶和華。我要這樣向牆和用未泡透灰抹牆的人成就我怒中所定的，並要對你們說：『牆和抹牆的人都沒有了。』這抹牆的就是以色列的先知，他們指着耶路撒冷說預言，為這城見了平安的異象，其實沒有平安。這是主耶和華說的。」

「污鬼離了人身，就在無水之地過來過去，尋求安歇之處，卻尋不着。於是說：『我要回到我所出來的屋裏去。』到了，就看見裏面空閒，打掃乾淨，修飾好了，便去另帶了七個比自己更惡的鬼來，都進去住在那裏。那人末後的景況比先前更不好了。這邪惡的世代也要如此。」
