爾當為爾愛子除髮、使爾首禿而哀哭、使爾首大禿、與禿鷹禿鷹或作鷲鳥無異、因爾愛子被擄離爾去、

Shave your head in mourning for the children in whom you delight; make yourself as bald as the vulture, for they will go from you into exile.

The children you enjoy so much will be taken away as prisoners. So shave your heads and mourn. Make them as bare as the head of a vulture.

當那日，萬軍之主耶和華使人哭泣哀號，頭上光禿，身披麻布。

約伯就起來，撕裂外袍，剃了頭，俯伏在地敬拜，

耶路撒冷啊，要剪頭髮，扔掉它，在光禿的高地唱哀歌，因為耶和華棄絕、離棄了惹他發怒的世代。』」

何細亞第九年，亞述王攻取了撒瑪利亞，把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘與歌散的哈博河邊，以及瑪代人的城鎮。

你中間柔順嬌嫩的婦人，甚至因柔順嬌嫩腳不肯踏地的婦人，也必冷眼惡待她懷中的丈夫和自己的兒女。在被仇敵圍困、陷入窘迫的城鎮中，她因缺乏一切，就要暗中把從她兩腿中間出來的胞衣和所生下的兒女吃了。

耶和華說：『看哪，日子將到，凡你家裏所有的，並你祖先積蓄到如今的一切，都要被擄到巴比倫去，不留下一樣；從你本身所生的孩子，其中必有被擄到巴比倫王宮當太監的。』」

耶和華說：因為錫安狂傲，行走挺項，賣弄眼目，俏步徐行，腳下玎璫，主必使錫安頭頂長瘡，耶和華又暴露其下體。到那日，主必除掉華美的足飾、額帶、月牙圈、耳環、手鐲、面紗、頭巾、足鏈、華帶、香盒、符囊、戒指、鼻環、禮服、外套、披肩、皮包、手鏡、細麻衣、頭飾、紗巾。必有腐爛代替馨香，繩子代替腰帶，光禿代替美髮，麻衣繫腰代替華服，烙痕代替美貌。你的男丁必倒在刀下，你的勇士必死在陣上。錫安的城門必悲傷、哀號；它必荒涼，坐在地上。

「我要使你們的節期變為悲哀，你們一切的歌曲變為哀歌；我要使眾人腰束麻布，頭上光禿；我要使這悲哀如喪獨子，其結局如悲痛的日子。

摩押上到神廟和底本的丘壇去哭泣；它因尼波和米底巴哀號，各人頭上光禿，鬍鬚剃淨。

你生兒育女，卻不屬於你，因為他們必被擄去。

我的百姓啊，應當腰束麻布，滾在灰中。要悲傷，如喪獨子般痛痛哭號，因為滅命的忽然臨到我們。

素來吃美好食物的，如今遭遺棄在街上；素來穿着朱紅衣裳長大的，如今卻擁抱糞堆。我百姓的罪孽比所多瑪的罪還大；所多瑪雖無人伸手攻擊，轉眼之間就被傾覆。錫安的拿細耳人比雪純淨，比奶更白；他們的身體比寶石更紅，身軀之美如藍寶石一般。但如今他們的面貌比煤炭更黑，在街上無人認識；他們的皮膚緊貼骨頭，枯乾形同槁木。

他們連大帶小，都必在這地死亡，不得埋葬。人必不為他們哀哭，不為他們割劃自己，也不剃光頭。
