Woe to those who plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they carry it out because it is in their power to do it.

How terrible it will be for those who plan to harm others! How terrible for those who make evil plans before they even get out of bed! As soon as daylight comes, they carry out their plans. That’s because they have the power to do it.

Woe to those who devise wickedness and work evil on their beds! When the morning dawns, they perform it, because it is in the power of their hand.

What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so.

Woe to those who dream up wickedness and prepare evil plans on their beds! At morning light they accomplish it because the power is in their hands.

Woe to those who devise wrongdoing, Who practice evil on their beds! When morning comes, they do it, Because it is in the power of their hands.

Those who devise sinful plans are as good as dead, those who dream about doing evil as they lie in bed. As soon as morning dawns they carry out their plans, because they have the power to do so.

A troublemaker and a villain, who goes about with a corrupt mouth,who winks maliciously with his eye, signals with his feet and motions with his fingers,who plots evil with deceit in his heart— he always stirs up conflict.Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood,a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil,a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Scoundrels use wicked methods, they make up evil schemes to destroy the poor with lies, even when the plea of the needy is just.

From you, Nineveh, has one come forth who plots evil against the Lord and devises wicked plans.

Their hearts are like an oven; they approach him with intrigue. Their passion smolders all night; in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.All of them are hot as an oven; they devour their rulers. All their kings fall, and none of them calls on me.

For they cannot rest until they do evil; they are robbed of sleep till they make someone stumble.

Good people obtain favor from the Lord, but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.

and the chief priests and the teachers of the law were looking for some way to get rid of Jesus, for they were afraid of the people.Then Satan entered Judas, called Iscariot, one of the Twelve.And Judas went to the chief priests and the officers of the temple guard and discussed with them how he might betray Jesus.They were delighted and agreed to give him money.He consented, and watched for an opportunity to hand Jesus over to them when no crowd was present.

The next morning some Jews formed a conspiracy and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul.

Then Haman said to King Xerxes,“ There is a certain people dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom who keep themselves separate. Their customs are different from those of all other people, and they do not obey the king’s laws; it is not in the king’s best interest to tolerate them.

Rescue me, Lord, from evildoers; protect me from the violent,who devise evil plans in their hearts and stir up war every day.They make their tongues as sharp as a serpent’s; the poison of vipers is on their lips.Keep me safe, Lord, from the hands of the wicked; protect me from the violent, who devise ways to trip my feet.The arrogant have hidden a snare for me; they have spread out the cords of their net and have set traps for me along my path.I say to the Lord,“ You are my God.” Hear, Lord, my cry for mercy.Sovereign Lord, my strong deliverer, you shield my head in the day of battle.Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord; do not let their plans succeed.

Very early in the morning, the chief priests, with the elders, the teachers of the law and the whole Sanhedrin, made their plans. So they bound Jesus, led him away and handed him over to Pilate.

The Lord said to me,“ Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city.

The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way to arrest him immediately, because they knew he had spoken this parable against them. But they were afraid of the people.

His wife Zeresh and all his friends said to him,“ Have a pole set up, reaching to a height of fifty cubits, and ask the king in the morning to have Mordecai impaled on it. Then go with the king to the banquet and enjoy yourself.” This suggestion delighted Haman, and he had the pole set up.

Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people made their plans how to have Jesus executed.So they bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate the governor.

But when the plot came to the king’s attention, he issued written orders that the evil scheme Haman had devised against the Jews should come back onto his own head, and that he and his sons should be impaled on poles.
