Should you talk that way, O family of Israel? Will the Lord’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting.

雅各家啊，岂可说耶和华的心不忍耐吗？这些事是他所行的吗？我耶和华的言语岂不是与行动正直的人有益吗？

雅各家啊，可这么说吗？耶和华没有耐心吗？这些事是他所行的吗？我的言语岂不是与行动正直的人有益吗？

雅各家啊，你们怎能说：“耶和华已经不耐烦了吗？祂会做这些事吗？”“我的话岂不有益于行为正直的人吗？

雅各家啊！人怎可说：“耶和华的心着急，（按照《马索拉文本》，“耶和华的心着急”直译是“耶和华的灵是短的吗”）不能忍耐呢？这些是他的作为吗？”我耶和华的话对行事正直的人不是有益的吗？

雅各家啊，豈可說耶和華的心不忍耐嗎？這些事是他所行的嗎？我－耶和華的言語豈不是與行動正直的人有益嗎？

雅各家啊，可這麼說嗎？耶和華沒有耐心嗎？這些事是他所行的嗎？我的言語豈不是與行動正直的人有益嗎？

雅各家啊，是不是可以說：永恆主心裏着急、不能忍耐呢？或是說這是他作事的作風呢？他的話豈不是對行為正直的人有益的麼？

雅各家歟、豈可曰耶和華之神褊急乎、此事豈彼所為、我言非有益於正行者乎、

吁哉、爾雅各之家、何出此言、耶和華之神、豈不甚盛、斯災豈耶和華所常行乎、為義之人、必以我言為有益、

雅各族歟、豈可言主易於震怒乎、或作爾稱為雅各族者歟主豈不含忍乎斯事豈主所常行乎、主曾言、我言必於行正直者有益、

You descendants of Jacob, should it be said,“ Does the Lord become impatient? Does he do such things?”“ Do not my words do good to the one whose ways are upright?

People of Jacob, should anyone say,“ The Lord is patient, so he wouldn’t do things like that”? The Lord replies,“ What I promise brings good things to those who lead honest lives.

Should this be said, O house of Jacob? Has the Lord grown impatient? Are these his deeds? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?

House of Jacob, should it be asked,“ Is the Spirit of the LORD impatient? Are these the things he does?” Don’t my words bring good to the one who walks uprightly?

Is it being said, house of Jacob:‘ Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these His works?’ Do My words not do good For the one walking rightly?

You who are named the house of Jacob:“ Is the Spirit of the Lord restricted? Are these His doings? Do not My words do good To him who walks uprightly?

Shall it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah straitened? are these his doings? Do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

House of Jacob, should it be asked,“ Is the Spirit of the Lord impatient? Are these the things He does?” Don’t My words bring good to the one who walks uprightly?

O[ thou that art] named the house of Jacob, is the spirit of the LORD straitened?[ are] these his doings? do not my words do good to him that walketh uprightly?

Does the family of Jacob say,‘ The LORD’s patience can’t be exhausted– he would never do such things’? To be sure, my commands bring a reward for those who obey them,

Shall it be said, O house of Jacob:“ Is Yahweh’s Spirit angry? Are these his doings? Don’t my words do good to him who walks blamelessly?”

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.

Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.

When I discovered your words, I devoured them. They are my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, O Lord God of Heaven’s Armies.

Why was no one there when I came? Why didn’t anyone answer when I called? Is it because I have no power to rescue? No, that is not the reason! For I can speak to the sea and make it dry up! I can turn rivers into deserts covered with dying fish.

“ Our father is Abraham!” they declared.“ No,” Jesus replied,“ for if you were really the children of Abraham, you would follow his example.

There is no lack of love on our part, but you have withheld your love from us.

“ Listen to me, O family of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel and born into the family of Judah. Listen, you who take oaths in the name of the Lord and call on the God of Israel. You don’t keep your promises,even though you call yourself the holy city and talk about depending on the God of Israel, whose name is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Yes, I have more insight than my teachers, for I am always thinking of your laws.I am even wiser than my elders, for I have kept your commandments.I have refused to walk on any evil path, so that I may remain obedient to your word.I haven’t turned away from your regulations, for you have taught me well.How sweet your words taste to me; they are sweeter than honey.

Then he said to me,“ This is what the Lord says to Zerubbabel: It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Listen to me, you leaders of Israel! You hate justice and twist all that is right.

For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision.No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.

The way of the Lord is a stronghold to those with integrity, but it destroys the wicked.

Listen! The Lord’s arm is not too weak to save you, nor is his ear too deaf to hear you call.It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore.

The blameless will be rescued from harm, but the crooked will be suddenly destroyed.

“ Shout with the voice of a trumpet blast. Shout aloud! Don’t be timid. Tell my people Israel of their sins!

The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.The commandments of the Lord are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are clear, giving insight for living.Reverence for the Lord is pure, lasting forever. The laws of the Lord are true; each one is fair.They are more desirable than gold, even the finest gold. They are sweeter than honey, even honey dripping from the comb.They are a warning to your servant, a great reward for those who obey them.

He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk with integrity.

They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

People with integrity walk safely, but those who follow crooked paths will be exposed.

Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them. But in those paths sinners stumble and fall.

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Has my arm lost its power? Now you will see whether or not my word comes true!”

Their hearts are dull and stupid, but I delight in your instructions.My suffering was good for me, for it taught me to pay attention to your decrees.

Those who follow the right path fear the Lord; those who take the wrong path despise him.

Well then, has God failed to fulfill his promise to Israel? No, for not all who are born into the nation of Israel are truly members of God’s people!Being descendants of Abraham doesn’t make them truly Abraham’s children. For the Scriptures say,“ Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted,” though Abraham had other children, too.This means that Abraham’s physical descendants are not necessarily children of God. Only the children of the promise are considered to be Abraham’s children.For God had promised,“ I will return about this time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”This son was our ancestor Isaac. When he married Rebekah, she gave birth to twins.But before they were born, before they had done anything good or bad, she received a message from God.( This message shows that God chooses people according to his own purposes;he calls people, but not according to their good or bad works.) She was told,“ Your older son will serve your younger son.”In the words of the Scriptures,“ I loved Jacob, but I rejected Esau.”

Listen to the word of the Lord, people of Jacob— all you families of Israel!

You have done many good things for me, Lord, just as you promised.

But how can that be? Did the law, which is good, cause my death? Of course not! Sin used what was good to bring about my condemnation to death. So we can see how terrible sin really is. It uses God’s good commands for its own evil purposes.

If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.

Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.
