And I said, Hear, I pray you, O heads of Jacob, and ye princes of the house of Israel;[ Is it] not for you to know judgment?

我说：雅各的首领，以色列家的官长啊，你们要听！你们不当知道公平吗？

于是我说：雅各的领袖，以色列家的官长啊，你们要听！你们岂不知道公平吗？

我说：“雅各的首领，以色列家的统治者啊！你们要听！难道你们不知正义吗？

我说：“雅各的首领，你们要听，以色列家的官长，你们也要听；难道你们不知道公平吗？

我說：雅各的首領，以色列家的官長啊，你們要聽！你們不當知道公平嗎？

於是我說：雅各的領袖，以色列家的官長啊，你們要聽！你們豈不知道公平嗎？

於是我說：雅各的領袖，以色列家的官長啊，你們要聽！你們豈不知道公平嗎？

我說：「雅各的首領，以色列家的統治者啊！你們要聽！難道你們不知正義嗎？

我說：“雅各的首領，你們要聽，以色列家的官長，你們也要聽；難道你們不知道公平嗎？

我說：雅各的首領啊，你們要聽；以色列家的官長啊，你們要留心；你們的本分不是應當明白公平麼？

我曰、雅各之首領、以色列家之有司歟、爾其聽之、公義非爾所當知乎、

我曰、雅各之長者、以色列族之士師、宜聽我言、聽訟之理、非爾所當知乎、

我曰、雅各之諸長者、以色列族之秉權者、秉權者或作侯伯當聽我言、聽訟之理、聽訟之理或作按理以審判非爾所當知乎、

Then I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of Israel. Should you not embrace justice,

Then I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Jacob’s people! Pay attention, you rulers of Israel! You should want to judge others fairly.

And I said: Hear, you heads of Jacob and rulers of the house of Israel! Is it not for you to know justice?—

I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Israel! You are supposed to know right from wrong,

Then I said,“ Now listen, leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Aren’t you supposed to know what is just?

And I said,“ Hear now, you leaders of Jacob And rulers of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know justice?

And I said:“ Hear now, O heads of Jacob, And you rulers of the house of Israel: Is it not for you to know justice?

And I said, Hear, I pray you, ye heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: is it not for you to know justice?

Then I said,“ Now listen, leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the house of Israel. Aren’t you supposed to know what is just?

I said,“ Listen, you leaders of Jacob, you rulers of the nation of Israel! You ought to know what is just,

I said,“ Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn’t it for you to know justice?

Therefore I said, Surely these[ are] poor; they are foolish: for they know not the way of the LORD,[ nor] the judgment of their God.I will get me unto the great men, and will speak unto them; for they have known the way of the LORD,[ and] the judgment of their God: but these have altogether broken the yoke,[ and] burst the bonds.

God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.Deliver the poor and needy: rid[ them] out of the hand of the wicked.They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.

Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment[ is] toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.

Hear the word of the LORD, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.

Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that[ are] in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

Hear ye, and give ear; be not proud: for the LORD hath spoken.Give glory to the LORD your God, before he cause darkness, and before your feet stumble upon the dark mountains, and, while ye look for light, he turn it into the shadow of death,[ and] make[ it] gross darkness.But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for[ your] pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’S flock is carried away captive.Say unto the king and to the queen, Humble yourselves, sit down: for your principalities shall come down,[ even] the crown of your glory.

Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken[ is] good[ for us] to do.So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear[ the causes] between your brethren, and judge righteously between[ every] man and his brother, and the stranger[ that is] with him.Ye shall not respect persons in judgment;[ but] ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment[ is] God’s: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring[ it] unto me, and I will hear it.

Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people[ as] they eat bread, and call not upon the LORD.

And say, Hear the word of the LORD, O king of Judah, that sittest upon the throne of David, thou, and thy servants, and thy people that enter in by these gates:Thus saith the LORD; Execute ye judgment and righteousness, and deliver the spoiled out of the hand of the oppressor: and do no wrong, do no violence to the stranger, the fatherless, nor the widow, neither shed innocent blood in this place.

Judges and officers shalt thou make thee in all thy gates, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, throughout thy tribes: and they shall judge the people with just judgment.

And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who[ is] with you in the judgment.Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do[ it]: for[ there is] no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and[ of] the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and[ so] wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass.

Hear this, I pray you, ye heads of the house of Jacob, and princes of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity.They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.
