耶穌卻退到曠野去禱告。

基督在他肉身的日子，曾大聲哀哭，流淚禱告，懇求那能救他免死的神，就因他的虔誠蒙了應允。

天亮的時候，耶穌出來，走到荒野的地方。眾人去找他，到了他那裏，要留住他，不讓他離開他們。但耶穌對他們說：「我也必須在別的城傳神國的福音，因我奉差原是為此。」

你們當以基督耶穌的心為心：

疏散了眾人以後，他獨自上山去禱告。到了晚上，只有他一人在那裏。

耶和華啊，早晨你必聽我的聲音；早晨我要向你陳明我的心思，並要警醒。

耶穌對他們說：「我的食物就是要遵行差我來那位的旨意，完成他的工作。

他們與我作對回報我的愛，但我專心祈禱。
