依靠自己财富的必将倒下；而义人却像绿叶那样茂盛。

现在来吧，你们这些富有的人哪！应当为那些将要临到你们的惨祸而痛哭、哀号！你们的财富腐烂了；你们的衣服被虫蛀了；你们的金银也生锈了，这锈将成为控告你们的见证，又要像火那样吃你们的肉。在这末后的日子里，你们竟然积蓄财富！

对那些今世富有的人，你当吩咐他们不可高傲自大，也不可把盼望寄托在靠不住的财富上，而要寄托在神身上，神把万物丰丰富富地赐给我们享受。

“看哪，这个人不把神当作自己的保障，他依靠自己丰盛的财富，靠自己的奸恶得胜。”

因为你说‘我是富有的；我发了财，什么都不缺’，却不知道你是可悲的、可怜的、贫穷的、瞎眼的、赤身的。

“孩子们哪，我与你们在一起的时候不多了。你们将寻找我，而且就像我曾经告诉过那些犹太人一样，现在我也告诉你们：我去的地方，你们不能去。

你的目光飞向财富，它却不见了；因为财富必定长出翅膀，如鹰飞向天空。

爱钱财的法利赛人听到这一切话，就讥笑耶稣。

耶稣对他们说：“孩子们，你们没有鱼吧？”他们回答：“没有。”

门徒们听了这话，极其惊讶，就说：“究竟谁能得救呢？”

然后对他们讲了一个比喻，说：“有一个富有的人，田地丰收了。他就心里盘算：‘我没有地方储存我的产物了，做什么呢？’他就说：‘我要这么做：拆掉我的这些仓库，另建更大的，把我所有的麦子和美物收集在那里。然后，我要对我的灵魂说：灵魂哪，你拥有了很多好东西，足以享用多年，你就休息、吃喝、庆祝吧。’“可是神对他说：‘你这愚妄的人哪！今夜，他们就要召回你的灵魂了。那么，你所预备的要归谁呢？’“那为自己积蓄财富而在神面前不富足的人，也是这样。”

孩子们哪，你们属于神，而且你们已经胜过了假先知们，因为那在你们里面的，比那在世界上的更大。

听见的人就说：“那么，谁能得救呢？”耶稣说：“在人不可能的事，在神都是可能的。”

你不要依靠欺压，也不要妄想抢夺；即使财富增加，也不要放在心上。

富人的财物，是他坚固的城，在他幻想中，如高高的城墙。

孩子们哪，你们要保守自己远离偶像。

耶和华啊，求你用手使我脱离世人——他们只在今生有份：你用你所储藏的填满他们的肚腹；他们也因有儿女而满足，还把剩余的留给他们的幼儿。

他们只是依靠财富、自夸多财的人。人实在不能救赎弟兄，也不能把他的赎价交给神，

我的孩子们哪，为了你们，我再次经受临产的阵痛，直到基督在你们里面成形！

他的门徒当中有许多人听了，就说：“这话实在严厉，谁能听呢？”
